Wilko Homewares Review

I was recently chosen to review a selection of homeware products from Wilko. The review was to be a total surprise, so I was excitedly awaiting the postman to bring me my unknown parcel.
When my parcel arrived, it was well packaged and I could not wait to open it up to see what was inside waiting for me. I quickly opened it up to find a white table lamp, a double duvet set and a soft throw over inside. I was pleasantly surprised with my review products and pleased with what I had been sent as we are decorating our 9-year-old daughter’s room in a more grown up style, so these items were perfect.
She has had a really girly pink room for the past 7 years and has been begging to change it to something more neutral. The items that arrived are a perfect fit for what we had in mind. We love the shabby chic cream tones in our house and she already has furniture that fit with that style, so all we needed to do was paint the walls magnolia again, add a neutral feature wall and off we were.
The final result was perfect and our daughter was extremely happy with her new bedroom.
The products we received were a white ceramic lamp in a contemporary design with a skittle base. We placed this lamp on our daughters bedside table, however its versatile style would allow it to look perfect in any room of the house. Its measurements are 17 x 17 x 29cm. The ceramic base is topped with a cotton shade, a perfect match. The lamp is a bargain price of £5 and comes in additional colours of the same style. It gives off a nice glow and looks fabulous in our daughter’s bedroom.
Secondly, the ultra soft touch throw, which is a great addition to any home, whether it is for the bedroom or just snuggling up on the couch. My daughter is very sensory and loves soft touch blankets, so this is absolutely brilliant for her to cosy up into while watching TV in her bedroom. However, as I type, I am actually cuddled up in it, just to test it out.
It’s really nice and warm and as the nights draw colder, it is a necessity in the home. The sizing of the throw is 120 x 150cm, just the right size for one – no sharing necessary. The throw costs £5 and is a beautiful cream colour. It is made from 100% polyester and can be washed at 30 degrees.
It’s part of Wilko’s Decelerate trend range, which is inspired by nature and boasts natural colours and rustic charm that will bring a tranquil feel to any room in your home and it fits in perfectly with the theme of our home. I’m actually going to purchase a few of them for movie nights in front of the TV.
Our final product was Wilko Reversible Double Duvet Set with 2 Pillowcases in Cream/Stone. This reversible duvet set is made from soft touch polycotton that ensures minimal ironing, great for a mummy that hates to iron! It is made from 52% polyester and 48% cotton.
It has 144 thread count and is machine washable and tumble dry safe.
We washed the duvet set before putting on our daughters’ bed, as we do with all new items. It washed well and like advertised, it was minimal iron, which was great.
I love that it is reversible, and for my daughter it gives her the option of which colour to have without me spending extra on loads of sets of bedding.
The set measures 200 x 200cm for a double bed and comes with two matching pillowcases. It retails at £12 which is an absolute steal for the quality. I will be buying some for the other bedrooms as I’m so impressed.
Overall, the products we received are excellent. We are really impressed with the quality of the items and they are perfect for our home and for our daughter’s bedroom. She is very happy with the design of her new bedroom and it is a much more grown up theme that will last her into her teens.
