Wicked Vision Fun At Home Review

Being quarantined at home with an active husband, an 11 year old desperately missing his sports and a 5 year old with the exercise schedule of a Labrador has not been an easy task, so I was overjoyed to be selected to review 3 wicked items all designed to make being active at home easy- and fun. I received the Ukick, the Mega jump high performance jump rope and Indoor booma.

As soon as the parcel arrived my children were clamouring to get the items unboxed, all three items were well packaged and extremely inviting. I really liked that whilst they were securely packaged you didn’t need an engineering degree to be able to release the products! Nothing was unnecessarily cable tied into the box and we were able to begin playing immediately.

My daughter aged 5 only had eyes for the skipping rope, the Mega Jump is a high performance jump rope and can be extended to a generous 300cm length but what makes it truly excellent is how easily adjustable it is. The handles have a clever opening cap which allows you to adjust the rope length with a toggle concealed inside and the excess rope fits neatly inside the handle. This is a brilliant feature as even though tall for her age I find most skipping ropes too long for my 5 year old and she gets agitated when I tie a knot in the middle or when it drags on the floor slowing her skips down! The mega jump also features a ‘super smooth ball-bearing axle’ what this means is the rope has almost a weightiness to it and rotates smoothly and effortlessly making it a great rope for beginners or those wanting to practice trick moves. Due to the long length of the rope the adults in our family were also able to enjoy skipping and we were able to use it as a family to play skipping games with two people holding the rope and two people skipping together. Really great fun!

My son could not wait to get his hands (and feet!) on the Ukick. This is a really clever product. It looks like a shuttlecock weighted with poker chips and is designed for indoor use and can be used for ‘keep ups’ amongst other things. You adjust the amount of weights on the bottom to increase the speed that the Ukick moves so for a beginner you can build your hand eye coordination and add weights to increase the challenge. Fantastic. This couldn’t have arrived at a better time as it’s been raining for two solid days and I don’t allow footballs in the house so an opportunity for safe indoor football practice was music to my sons ears! We also enjoyed batting it back and forth between us in teams. I think this toy could have loads of potential for fun, I will definitely be adding this into the rotation of birthday party gifts I buy for friends children.

Finally we had the Indoor Booma which is a foam boomerang safe to use indoors. It’s very lightweight and I felt no concerns about chucking it across the room as I was confident it would be impossible for it to do any damage. On the reverse of the packaging there were clear instructions about different throwing techniques and suggestions for trick catching. I talked my 5 year old through the basic throwing technique and she achieved a cracking throw that went gracefully around the room and returned to her! She was delighted. We all enjoyed playing with this and in particular it caught our cats eye! Something about the smooth swooping movement must be reminiscent of a bird as our cat quickly began galloping across the room at each throw and trying to catch the boomerang. It truly was fun for all the family!

These items were all exceptional, and we all have different favourites, I will certainly be buying them all as gifts for others in the future. In times like these it can be really difficult to keep things fresh at home and adding in a new activity can really spice things up, the beauty of these items I think lays in how many opportunities for fun and fitness they all bring. They are great if you are beginning and will develop with you as you learn new skills, tricks and techniques.
