Wicked has been on my shows to see list for some time and I was so pleased when I got tickets to see the spellbinding, magical award winning production at the Empire Theatre in Liverpool.

If you like musicals but are unsure what to see this is a must.

Wicked is based around The Wonderful Wizard of Oz and tells the story of two young sorcery students at university, their friendship and their adventures in Oz for them ultimately to become Glinda the Good and the Wicked Witch of the West.

The show is superb with brilliant production, lights, sound and the staging was all excellent, not forgetting the top notch cast and is packed with thrilling special effects and technical wizardry.

The script is a great twist on the original and if you’re a fan of the Wizard of Oz it coincides with the movie.

My 12 year old daughter absolutely loved the story and was mesmerized by the whole production.

I would recommend this show to couples, families and friends although I would steer away from taking under 5’s (age guidance is 7+ with no under 3s) as I feel it would be a difficult story to follow and may be a bit scared in certain scenes.

Overall an absolutely fantastic show that will leave you singing along and wanting more.
