An amazing game that is fast-paced and where creativity is rewarded. What Were You Thinking? Is a fantastic guessing style board game with cards that gets you thinking really quickly with your reactions. A great game for a night in with family or friends; even better at a dinner party for the adults.
The packaging is fairly strong and is designed with bright, bold colours with fun artwork that looks exciting and entices you to play. It is a game with a quirky twist and most definitely suited to anyone who loves a party game. The presentation of the tiles is very well thought-out, from the colours to the fonts.
It is brilliant to play with a genius concept that is both simple and smart. Split into two teams and pick one ‘Guesser’ for your team. A teammate draws a word card, and the team have to try to get the ‘Guesser’ to guess the target word. This can only be done using two word clues that start with the letters shown on the board.
If your opposing team shouts their clue first and guesses correctly, your team is beaten by the opposing team. You really do have to be quick, use your imagination, and be very clear with what you are giving your ‘Guesser’ to guess.
When guessed correctly, flip over the letter-tiles that correspond to the clue on the board. For a team to win, they must flip five letters in a straight row.

Suitable for 10 years and upwards, although we did play it with our friends and their eight-year-old, and she really enjoyed it. It works best in groups of three or more, and each game lasts around 10–15 minutes.
This really is a fun game which factors in giggles, laughter and some really belly chuckles. The more you race to put together the two-word clues, the more frantic it gets, the more frantic it gets, the more laughs you get, even more so when someone gets it wrong or is clueless. Be mindful that how you interpret a word can be completely different to someone else, so, whatever you are thinking, they may well think differently! This makes each game really unpredictable and no two games are the same.
For children, it encompasses the concept of risk and encourages teamwork and creativity. In adults, it causes much more mayhem! LOL.
The tiles are quite chunky, making them easy to handle, and the board is strong enough to last through multiple games. The cards are of good quality too. Everything packs away neatly, helping the box and contents stand the test of time.
It really is worth the money and the value is more than just the cost. You can’t put a price or value on games night with plenty of giggles, fun and lot of laughing out loud. This is a great game, so whether you are just starting out with board games or want to add to your collection. What Were You Thinking? is a game to have. With Christmas just around the corner, it will not only make a great gift but is perfect for a party games night too. It is not a big box, making it ideal for travelling.
