I visited Partyman World of Play with my 2½ year old son and two friends with their boys who are a similar age (we also had 2 babies with us – 9 weeks and 7 months old). It is a short car journey from my house and there was ample parking. It was easy to find and well signposted. We arrived at 10am (as they opened) and there were lots of free tables – we chose a table with two sofas so we could be comfy. Considering it was a Monday morning at opening time the chairs were dirty and very sticky (as was the floor – our socks were filthy come the end of our visit). Our boys all ran off to explore and there was a toddler group taking place, the lady running it said our boys were more than welcome to join in with her activities and play with the toys there. There is a section for under 3’s with a small climbing wall, tunnel and slide – very small and a much bigger section – which our boys loved! There is a fantastic climbing volcano – we spent a lot of time trying to get to the top!!! A football pitch up high, a curly wurly slide and a bumpy slide. So much to do! It wasn’t too busy so the boys were happy to run around and were able to climb and play by themselves and as it was a school day there weren’t any older children there.

The play areas were fairly clean but there was a lot of dust in the gaps – noticed when climbing up the steps to reach the higher levels.

Between us we purchased hot drinks (a very lovely coffee), soft drinks, 2 children’s lunch boxes and a tuna and sweetcorn baguettes (oh and very yummy breaded mushrooms). It’s not cheap to eat or drink there as an adult but the children’s lunch boxes seemed very good value for money. I couldn’t purchase anything for my son – he has a few allergies. The allergy information was all on display and easy to read. He could have had  portion of chips but the lady working in the kitchen explained that as the weekend had been busy all the fryers had been used so then there would be a risk of cross contamination from other food cooked in that fryer. I was very pleased with the staff and their knowledge of allergies – they let me give my son his own food which I had packed just in case (not many soft play areas allow this so a big thumbs up from me).

At one point there was an announcement over the tannoy for all children to go to the stage as there would be balloon modelling for all – the boys all chose swords – I thought this was a very good touch and made it slightly different from other places I have visited.

We spent just over 3 hours at Partyman World of Play and probably could have stayed longer but we had very tired worn out boys! I will definitely be returning and will recommend to my friends – I may stay clear in the school holidays and weekends until my son is a little bit older as he much preferred the bigger play area to the one for under 3’s.

The cost to get in seems to be inline with other soft play places I have visited but at Partyman World of Play you get a lot more for your money!

It’s a 4.5 out of 5 from me!
