We all know that we should show our significant other how we feel about them every day – it really is the little things that make a relationship special. Bringing her a cup of coffee in bed in the morning, picking up his favourite chocolate bar as a ‘just because’ treat on your way home from work, and giving them a kiss before you leave the house in the morning are the things that mean the most. So whilst it isn’t the grand gestures that show the special person in your life that you love them, Valentine’s Day is a cracking opportunity to do something a little out of the ordinary to celebrate how you feel.
This year, I have arranged to take my other half away for a boutique escape hotel stay for two. I have arranged this with Red Letter Days, who have some fantastic experience gifts for couples. One of her favourite cities is York, so we will be staying at the Judge’s Court Hotel, but with around fifty top class hotels all over the country, there is sure to be a location to suit you. I can’t wait and will post the review once we’ve been!
Having said that, we all have busy lives and I’m well aware that a couple of child-free days is a bit of a luxury and not something that is easy to organise (this is the first time we’ve managed it for Valentine’s Day). So if a night away isn’t on your agenda, take a look at our Valentine’s Gift Guide to see what our team have been reviewing, and find your perfect gift (and not a vacuum cleaner in sight!).
