TV Psychic Sally Morgan Interview

A Chat with Sally Morgan

by Kylie Holmes

Fresh from her new TV Series – ‘Psychic Sally On The Road’ on SKY LIVING, Britain’s best loved celebrity psychic, Sally Morgan returns to Cambridge Corn Exchange on Saturday 10th December 2011.

For those who do not know,Sally Morgan is a psychic to the stars whose clients have included Uma Thurman and Princess Diana.

On a cold winter’s day I got the chance to catch up with Sally and ask her a few questions about her everyday life.

1.  How fo you begin and end your day?
If I am on tour, I normally just potter around my house in the morning or sometimes I take a trip to my local high street.  I like to leave in plenty of time so that I can get to the theatre early to set-up and relax in my dressing room.  It takes me a while to unwind at the end of my shows. Normally I have a long drive back home to switch off but one thing I do always have to end my day with is a lovely cup of tea.

2.  Do you get nervous before a performance?
I always get butterflies as I wait in the wings to go on stage. Although I am used to being on stage, it is the anticipation and excitement that builds inside of me. My shows are completely spontaneous, every night is completely different and I never know what is going to happen. I think I would be abnormal if I wasn’t slightly nervous!

3.  What is your greatest achievement/accomplishment? And what else would you like to achieve?
When I look back at my life at the age of 60, I cannot believe what I have accomplished. I never imagined that I would have a UK tour, my own TV series and best-selling books. To me they are all amazing achievements, which I am very grateful for, but having the opportunity to publish books is incredible. I have always dreamed of being a writer, and my work has given me the vehicle to be able to do this.

4.  What hidden talents do you have?
There is nothing I can really think off, I don’t think my mind or body would be able to handle anything else. Talking with spirit is enough for me! Ha ha

5.  So what inspires you?
I feel inspired everyday by the people that come to my shows, watch my TV series and read my books. Knowing that I am able to bring comfort to so many people through times of great loss and sadness is an absolute honour. I get so many kind gifts, letters and emails from people and although I can’t reply to them all, the words of encouragement I get makes me determined to continue sharing my ability for as long as I can.

6.  Who are your musical inspirations? And what kind of music do you listen to today?
I am completely in love with Michael Bublé. It could listen to his smooth singing voice all night and he is nice to look at too!

7.  Are you writing any new material at the moment?
I have just recently been working on an extended edition of my book Psychic Sally’s Big Fat Operation, which should be out in January. The book focuses on my journey after having Gastric Bypass surgery and the new version shares my experiences right up to the present day. It is a subject close to my heart as it has completely changed my life for the better. For me I had to take that drastic step to enable me to live a healthier and longer life.

8.  What is the best advice that you have been given?
Just to keep myself grounded and always respect my ability. I have gone through some very testing times over the past few months and have had to deal with a lot of negative press. For a while it really affected me but then a friend made me realize that I had to just carry on and concentrate on the people that do believe in an afterlife and those that will gain great strength from seeing how these incredible connections with spirit happen. I don’t wish to convert anyone and respect that everyone has their own belief system, however I can’t let people’s disbelief affect me and the work I do.

9.  What do you do to keep yourself motivated and interested in your work?
I have dedicated my life to my work out of nothing but pure love and passion. A psychic ability is so unique, organic and special that I can’t see how anyone could lose interest.

10.  How did you get started on your Spiritual Path?
For me it has always been something that was just there. I remember as a girl I used to see things that others couldn’t and I guess my ability just grew naturally. As I got older I began saying things to people, which would leave them in shock. Sometimes I would give them descriptions about their past, a relative in spirit or predicted something that was going to happen for example. I now call them my “knowing’s”. Friends and family started telling me that what I had said was amazingly accurate and wanted to know how I knew this information. Of course I didn’t have the answer, to me they were just thoughts in my head. Through word of mouth I built up a client list and in my late twenties I left my job as a dental nurse and set up my own practice from my home. I ran this for over 30 years.

11.  How would you describe your spiritual path? What things do you do?
I like to call myself a medium, but many use the term ‘psychic’ as it is more generic. I don’t use any props; I have never used tarot cards or crystal balls etc. For me it has always been simple and the easiest way to describe it is that it is like a thought process. I can get an image, a smell, or a thought just pop into my head from someone in spirit world. When I pass on the information, which at times can be bizarre, someone will know exactly what I am talking about and suddenly this incredible connection between spirit world and earth plane is made. I still get amazed at my ability and I am constantly learning more and more about it.

12.  What important piece of advice would you give someone else just starting out on their spiritual journey?
Everyone’s journey is unique but my main advice would be to remain true to yourself and trust your instincts.

13.  What first awakened you?
The first ‘experience’ I remember clearly was when I was four years old. I was at nursery and I asked my teacher why my granddad couldn’t be with me. My teacher told me that no one was allowed their granddad in the class with them and then I pointed at a girl in my class and asked why she was allowed. I could see as clear as day an old man dressed in a full length coat stood next to this girl. The teacher asked me where this man was and so I went right up to him and pointed. The man smiled at me and then just disappeared. No one else in the room saw him.

14.  What were the very first things you did?
For me everything just happened organically. I never really actively tried to become a medium. It just evolved; it was just something that I could do.

15.  Is there anything you would guard against or you thought was a waste of time?
Again for me there was no rigorous training, this ability was within me and has always remained. I believe everyone has a natural psychic ability but as we get older, for one reason or another, our senses or ‘sixth sense’ becomes weaker. For some, these senses remain heightened allowing them to stay connected with spirit.

16.  What advice would you give to someone who has psychic abilities – telepathic, clairvoyant, out of body, channelling, etc – but doesn’t know how to develop them and has problems relating to their friends and family and in going about daily life, because of this unusual perspective?
Just believe in yourself and embrace your ability. In this day and age, we have so much access to information both online and in books and I would suggest that if anyone wanted to speak to someone about their experiences and ability to go to a local spiritualist church or find an organized group that may deal in assisting people trying to cope with their ability. There are also seminars being held all over the country that can offer advice.

17.  What do you suggest to those who would like to discover themselves as spiritual beings, but don’t have a clue where to start?
For me it was natural and so I find it hard to give advice to anyone who is starting out by trying to find this ability. My advice would be similar to the above. I am sure there are many organized groups that could offer advice and coaching.

18.  With 2012 fast approaching, a most auspicious year of the Mayan calendar, what plans do you have for the future?
2012 is going to be another hectic year for me. I am continuing my tour and hope to have another TV series out later in the year.

19.  If you had to start over, would you choose a different path in your career? And if you weren’t doing spiritual work, what would you be doing?
I like to think that the career chose me rather than me choosing the career. When I was younger I worked as a dental nurse, being in this line of work always interested me. If I wasn’t a medium and was asked this today I would probably say a fashion designer. I love shopping so getting to go to all those incredible cities with beautiful clothes, bags and shoes would be a dream
