Arriving only three days after my order the ‘Today I’m Me’ Luxury Graphic Shopper bag was delivered to my door.
I had heard some very good comments about these bags and therefore, when it arrived, I opened the large box with great anticipation and I am pleased to say that I was not disappointed.
The black and silver Luxury Graphic Collection Shopper is sturdy and stylish. Made from matt black PVC it is very strong, has neat seams and good stitching. Inside is plain, with a large press-stud to close the bag at the top. The double shoulder strap is made from excellent quality, close linked 10mm wide silver chain, held through four eyelets positioned either side at the top. This design means that the bag can be worn as a shoulder bag with a double chain, or pulled up as a single chain attachment, so that the bag can be worn across the body. The size is generous enough to easily fit purse and other essentials inside and leave a good deal of room for extra shopping.
However, as an artist and sculptor who likes the quirky things in life, I was particularly interested in seeing the artwork on the bag. This immediately brought a smile to my face. Plain on one side the other side is printed with two bold silver lines, one line runs down the side, broadening out into a curve at the base, the other line runs from this curve over to the other edge. The lines are followed by running dashes, which also run round the outside edge. Standing back to view the bag the optical illusion of the graphic design was easily made clear and the bag now looked as though it was curved at the base and had bold silver stitching all round the seams. There was another piece of graphic art giving the look of a fastening with padlock.
Today I’m Me conceived the idea of graphic bags early in 2012 and they launched the range in August 2013 after more than 18 months of development. All the designs in the range play with optical illusion and have a sense of fun. Some are brightly coloured, others are plain black with the emphasis on graphic lines, but all are extremely well made, in London, using materials that are sourced in the UK.
The company say that their range is aimed at all ages. As one of their older customers I agree that everyone will love the bags. You just need a good sense of fun and be able to look at the world from a slightly different angle.
