Will Burton (David Tennant) is a very talented junior barrister that has never lost a case earning him the nickname – The Escape Artist.

When Will is selected ahead of more senior barristers to defend a serial killer it is a case that is going to cost him dearly. He gets Liam Foyle (Toby Kebbell) acquitted of a very horrific and high-profile murder on a technicality but refuses to shake his hand after winning the case. This annoys Foyle which starts off a very deadly game that results in the murder of Will’s wife, Kate (Ashly Jensen).

Will’s rival (Sophie Okonedo) is then hired to represent Foyle and when he gets released a 2nd time the game really begins.

Overall, The Escape Artist is an excellent crime drama. David Tennant is great as the junior barrister but Toby Kebbell is superb as the very chilling serial killer.

A very thrilling and compelling 3 part drama and definitely one to own.

Rating: 5/5
