Last night I went to watch the Dreamboys perform at The Grove Theatre in Dunstable. I invited my sister-in-law to come with me who's first comment was 'it’s not really my thing!' She is a championship dancing judge so could be very critical in respect of the boys dancing ability!

When we arrived the foyer was filled with women ranging from early twenties to retirement age and mainly in groups. Once the lights went down the crowd got louder helped along by some additional screaming through the speakers and the host of the show appeared. He is apparently their manager and we did find him funny, I hope we were supposed to! Once he left the stage the music started again and the Dreamboys appeared down the sides dressed as policemen, at this point 75% of the crowd went wild! They then jumped on stage, danced around for a few minutes gradually losing clothes until they were semi naked and left the stage. This seemed then to be the theme of the evening!

Several 'lucky' members of the audience were dragged onto the stage to help with the show, they seemed to enjoy it (it would have been my worst nightmare!) it was at this point it seemed a bit like traditional strippers, I was hoping we would get a bit more from the boys with their interaction with the audience and dancing ability and make more of a show.

A few minor points I think need pointing out:

Please boys cut the white tags out of your black jockey shorts! When you pull down your pants to shake your tush at the audience having a white tag dangling out as well is quite off putting and deters from your toned behind!

The stage itself needs some decoration, I felt that if there had been a nice black, red or purple velvet curtain down the back of the stage rather than just a massive picture of the whole group, then the show would have felt just a little classier and not tawdry.

And finally boys, you need to rehearse together your dancing in time!!

We thought the best act of the night, was the pirate. He laughed with himself and us, didn't take the whole thing too seriously, seemed to have a personality as well as a great body and was all round a great act.

Lots of the women around us knew what was coming up next in the show so you obviously have a lot of repeat audience!

On the whole if you're looking for a night out with the girls, don't mind nudity, appreciate a fine male physique, good music and a laugh then this is a great night out.

Rating: 4.5/5
