Hotsquash Thermal Socks Review
Hotsquash Thermal Socks
Reviewed by Clair Bellamy
Last week I received a pair of Hotsquash, warm toes, toasty thin thermal socks. When I opened the packaging I must confess to being a little cynical and started questioning how a pair of socks that looked so thin could be thermal or remotely toasty but boy was I wrong!!
Packaging is a nice simple hanging card that keeps the socks paired. The care instructions and material mix information are clear and straightforward on the back of the packaging.
The socks were patterned in a stylish purple and blue stripe. Flat toe seams were something a little different to me as generally wearing hiking socks or standard cotton socks I don’t see this, the flat seams are a definite must to cut out any toe rubbing though. The length of the sock was absolutely perfect toe to heel and sat high enough to wear under ankle height boots leaving a good inch and a half to two inches of sock above the top of the boot.
The thinheat wool and elastane mix made the socks extremely soft and comfortable and as the name suggests very toasty. This was an extremely pleasant surprise! It was a very cold autumnal day when I first tried the socks and they kept my feet at an absolutely perfect temperature all day while in the house and outside.
The socks kept their shape and didn’t sag when worn. After washing at 30 degrees, as the packaging states, the socks came out perfectly, still soft and comfortable.
The price for a single pair of socks is £9.50, this is more than I would normally pay for everyday socks but will be considering purchasing a few more pairs ready for wearing under everyday shoes and boots in the winter.
Overall I would give these socks a rating of 4/5 purely because I’m not used to paying this much for a single pair of socks. These may be the socks to change my way of thinking given a few more times of wearing though.
Lovely product.
