The London Bridge Experience Review

Reviewed by Kelly Dewey
We visited The London Bridge Experience on Saturday 22nd June 2019. The venue itself was fairly easy to find with the help of Google Maps. There were street signs directing us and maps along the way to view. We were greeted immediately outside of the doors by a lady dressed up in olden day clothes who asked to see our tickets and guided us to the front desk. It was then a very short wait for our timed slot of 10.30. The advantage of having timed sessions meant that it wasn’t too crowded, we were very fortunate to have a group of just 10 people which I felt gave us a more personal experience, although it seemed there was capacity for more people to fit it.
The adventure began when a lady in a hooded costume opened the gate for us and beckoned us through without saying a word. There was a deadly uncomfortable silence which put us all on edge immediately. Just as we were wondering what was going to happen she began her act with an abrupt high pitched beginning which made the scaredy cats among us scream (yes me included!). From then on in you spent the whole time wondering who was going to creep up behind us or jump out at us next. Each actor took you through a certain era or event that happened on the bridge, each performed their role amazingly, interacted with the group well and gave facts and dates along the way. There was a room where we could take our time reading through some of the events and stories from centuries gone by… I was still looking over my shoulder just in case!
After we’d passed through a few of these rooms and actors, a scary photo was taken (with an option to buy at the end) and we told to wait in a room, after a quick video we were told to hold onto each other’s shoulders to go through the tombs. This was super super scary and tapped into every one of your senses to scare the c**p out of you. Cut off heads hanging around, dark rooms, zombie like people breathing on your neck, banging walls and jumping out at you, one guy was even donning a chainsaw… WOW… the smell, the noise, the atmosphere it created really led you to believe you were in for the chop!
There was a shop and a cafe at the end, I’d heard the ice cream was divine, but I was too shook up to eat!
The London Bridge Experience & London Tombs is great fun for adults and older children and teens. Highly recommended.
