“Do you care about saving endangered animals, protecting our precious, forests and plants, keeping our air, oceans, and fresh water clean and safe?

Find out about all the things you can do to help – turn off taps, make compost, grow plants for bees, ask questions. Keep our planet safe and GREEN for the children of the future.

The Great Big Green Book is a wonderful educational book packed with ideas and inspiration for ways to keep our planet safe and beautiful for the future.

It covers how to save water, save energy, recycle, help protect the forests, oceans, and wildlife on our planet.

The cover of the book is, how you would expect… big and green!! At the bottom are some cartoon children holding signs that say ‘plant trees’, ‘keep bees’ and ‘turn the lights off.’

The whole book is illustrated throughout with colourful cartoons. On each double page spread there is a different title page ranging from Our Home In Space, A Wonderful World, The Blue Planet, The Green Planet, Every Breath We Take, Climate Change, All Creatures Great And Small, A Race Against Time, Save Water Save Energy, Round and Round, Lasting Longer, Make It New, Go Slow, Ask Questions, Invent and finishing off with Back to Blue.

The text is big and clear, and there isn’t too much to put younger children off from reading it themselves. As well as the main text there are also numerous speech bubbles, making it quick and fun to read.

The cartoon people throughout the book are very diverse, covering people from all walks of life, including children in wheelchairs, children wearing leg braces, grey hair, dreadlocks, ginger hair plus many more.

On the last couple of pages of the book, it has a list of useful words and useful websites.

Overall this is a brilliant book, and would be a great addition to any child’s book shelf or class room.
