If you are a candle lover like me, you can relate to having a house full of them; hanging around the candle section in a shop choosing the perfect scent or just looking forward to lighting a candle at the end of a hard day. So to be able to review a candle from The Copenhagen Company was right up my street. You may think that a candle is just a candle but the quality can differ wildly which is why once you find a good make of candle, you tend to stick to it rather than be disappointed. Candles are a luxury and a very careful decision as they can help generate a mood, add to the ambience of a room and create a feeling. You may use them to relax, invigorate or help with focus. Not only that they need to be aesthetically pleasing, match the room and look good quality. There’s a lot to consider and if a candle isn’t right it can be really disappointing.

The Copenhagen Company sent me a large candle from their Signature Hotel Collection – which in itself promises a certain level of quality! Delivery was quick and the packaging was robust. The candle came in a sophisticated looking box. The scent was Sea Breeze which the box describes as ‘a refreshing marine breeze scent’. The candle itself, was a really good size and is classed as the large size which is 600 grams. The candle comprised of a simple white glass jar with a silver lid. When I removed the lid the scent fill the air and it was indeed reminiscent of the sea with that fresh floral scent. It was strong but not overwhelming, a really pleasant scent that is quite refreshing and invigorating in its nature. It was also a double-wick candle.

That evening – because it’s always got to be in the evening – I settled down and lit the candle. It didn’t take long for the scent to hit the air and fill the room – a measure of a good candle in my book. There’s nothing worse than lighting a candle that you can no longer smell after initially lighting it. I was also pleasantly surprised to find that in the morning, when I came downstairs I could still smell the scent in the air. With the candle being a large, it will last quite a while. I have already lit it a few times this week and each time the wick lit well and when blown out does not have that build-up of carbon that often occurs on candles and can cause black smoke. Each time I lit it, the scent was still as fresh as ever.

This is a lovely luxurious candle that retails at £17 for the large size but is available in different sizes from £13. The same scent is also available in diffusers with gift sets available. For a really good quality candle, I think that this is a great price and would make an ideal gift for Christmas or otherwise, for anyone who loves to fill their house with candles. The Copenhagen Company have a great range of scents available on the website including fig, pomegranate and amber to name a few. The site is also offering a 10% discount for those who sign up to the newsletter. For Christmas, there is a Scandi Christmas range available for that special Festive scent. The range can be viewed on The Copenhagen Company website and the Sea breeze candle is available at https://thecopenhagencompany.com/collections/signature-range/products/sea-breeze-large-candle

I give this product a 5/5 for its quality, scent and the luxurious feel it adds to your home. It would be a very lovely Christmas present for any candle lover!
