T.G.I. Friday’s launches 50th store in the new Olympic Village

Currently celebrating 25 years in the UK, T.G.I. Friday’s is bringing its famous Friday’s feeling, super service, and legendary food and cocktails to the heart of Westfield Stratford City at the gateway to the Olympic Park.  The new restaurant will open on 13 September 2011 and is located on the Balcony of the new centre.

In what will be the 50th T.G.I. Friday’s in the UK, the new restaurant captures the classic New York excitement and buzz, and features iconic memorabilia from the Big Apple.  Bringing the American experience to life, guests will feel like they have just stepped into a classic downtown New York restaurant as they are greeted by a range of iconic memorabilia from the Big Apple, including an unmistakable yellow taxi, a New York bus and even a water tower.

In keeping with its Olympic location, the restaurant is designed in a circular stadium style allowing guests to enjoy the entertainment from Friday’s world-class bartenders.

Friday’s is known and loved nationwide for authentic American food including the signature Jack Daniel’s Glaze that has a cult-like following and famous Loaded Potato Skins, as well as the delicious cocktails and drinks. Friday’s upbeat and friendly atmosphere makes every occasion a celebration, and will give shoppers at Europe’s largest shopping centre the chance to let their hair down, refuel, and relax while they enjoy the new Westfield Stratford City experience.

Steve Hill, T.G.I. Friday’s Westfield Stratford City General Manager, said: “The opening of our 50th store is a major milestone for Friday’s, and we’re delighted to be launching in such a fantastic venue.  Located in the heart of the 2012 Olympic Village, Westfield Stratford City is set to be a fun and exciting place to be, and Friday’s is the perfect restaurant to continue that feeling. From the welcome you receive when you walk through the doors, to the way we serve our drinks and food, it is all about entertainment.”
