TEMU Children’s Digital Print Camera Review

I’ll admit, I had no idea what to expect when I was asked to review TEMU’s digital print camera — but I have been genuinely blown away!
As a mum of two young children, I’m constantly on the look-out for fresh ideas that will spark their interest. It’s not just about keeping them entertained for a moment; I want something that draws them back in, time and time again and this camera, has absolutely done that.
The camera arrived after a few days and was wrapped in an outer plastic bag. The box design was really cute and I was able to see exactly what the camera looked like. When I opened up the box I found the following:
1 x blue digital camera with HD screen
1 x attractive lanyard, which threads easily through the corner of the camera
1 x USB charging cable
3 x rolls of thermal paper (one already inside the camera, ready for action)
1 x instruction booklet.
When I turned the camera on, a welcome message popped up on screen accompanied by a little tune, which I felt was a nice touch for a kid’s camera. It was fully charged, so we could start trying it out straight away.
But this is so much more than just a camera. You can take videos, play MP3 music files (with a separate TF card), enjoy five built-in games – including ones similar to Snake and Tetris, for those parents after a bit of nostalgia), and customise settings including date and time stamping..
My kids got snap-happy straight away, capturing all sorts of moments from their day. The real magic? Each photo prints instantly via an inkless thermal printer — just like the old-school Polaroids — giving them a tangible memory in seconds. And no need to worry about ink refills; it prints directly onto thermal paper. What’s not to love?!
Although the camera is lightweight, which is perfect for little hands, the lanyard is really useful to (a) keep hands free, if needed and (b) for safety, to prevent any dropping incidents!
The HD screen is clear and colourful, and if you add a TF card, you can save your prints in surprisingly good quality. The printed images come out in black and white, which actually gives them a lovely, classic look. I especially love the time and date stamp feature — ideal for capturing the exact moment.
These photos would be perfect for producing a storyboard for a child’s homework or capturing moments at a special occasion.
The camera comes in a choice of pink or blue — we received the blue version, which works perfectly for boys or girls. The included lanyard is white with a playful cat design, accented by splashes of blue, pink, and yellow, making it nicely unisex too.
On first glance, the camera’s design is fairly simple, and the white printer flap could perhaps benefit from a splash of colour. But that’s a minor detail — easily remedied with a few fun stickers if you fancy personalising it a bit.
The camera charges via USB-C cable; as with most electrical items, it comes with just the cable, without the actual plug. You can attach to a laptop for charging or a compatible USB plug.
Another handy feature is its automatic shut-off function — perfect for those moments when it’s left on by mistake. It helps preserve battery life, so you won’t find it unexpectedly drained. It also displays a ‘Bye-Bye’ message when turning it off too, which is cute!
You get 3 rolls of thermal paper with the camera and we’ve taken lots of photos over the first few days and are only just coming to the end of the first roll, so they seem to last a good while. Although refills are readily available on TEMU at a reasonable price.
With Christmas just around the corner, this camera would make a brilliant and budget-friendly gift for any children in your life. At a current RRP of £18.01, it offers fantastic value for a genuinely fun piece of kit.
My kids have been using it every single day, and I’ve already stocked up on extra rolls of thermal paper so they’re ready to capture festive moments with friends and family. I’ll definitely be recommending it to my friends as a thoughtful gift idea for their little ones too.
