Temple Run Danger Chase is the board game based on the popular phone app. It is a family board game where the winner is the last player left on the board. Suitable for 2-4 players from age 8+.

Box contents:
5 Game Boards, Electronic Idol Timer, 4 Runner Pieces, 1 Evil Demon Monkey Piece, 20 Powerup Tokens, 5 Dice & 1 Instruction Sheet

Game Setup
Setting up the board is relatively straight forward. There are 5 double sided game board tiles that you lay out on the floor or table (in the correct order). Place the idol on the electronic base and set the difficulty level (easy, medium or hard) – the easier the level the more time you have to take your turn. Each player takes a runner piece and places it on a numbered space on at start. Place the Evil Demon monkey on the monkey symbol. Separate the powerup tokens and each player takes one of each colour. The player who is starting takes the dice and timer and you are now ready to play.

Game Play
The starting player starts the timer by pressing the idol and you will hear a drum beat that gets faster, then roll the five dice and stop the timer. If you hear a monkey screech you have taken too long and must move your runner to the back of the pack. On the dice there are runner, monkey and blanks, when you roll the dice you will receive a combination of these – add up the number of runner symbols and move you runner that many spaces and move the Demon Monkey 1 space for each monkey symbol thrown. The next player then takes their go.

If you land on a powerup space you can take a powerup token, if you land on an obstacle space you are dead and must remove your runner from the game unless you have a blue powerup token to resurrect your runner. If you land on a purple magnet space you can take a powerup token from any other player. To use the yellow boost powerup tokens you must use before throwing the dice and this then allows you to double the amount of runner symbols thrown so you can move further ahead.

Once the demon monkey is moved off a tile you then flip if over and place on the end on the tiles to create an endless path to keep playing on. If the demon monkey lands on a space that you are on or goes past you you have been caught and must now remove your runner from the board. When it is next your turn you just throw the dice and move the demon monkey so you still get to play.

The last play let on the board that hasn’t been caught by the demon monkey is the winner!

Overall
This is a fantastic board game and with the endless path means you can keep playing and anybody can win as there is no end space, just outrun the Evil Demon Monkey to survive. Very easy to setup and play and great family fun. I played with my 2 nieces and I think that I enjoyed it move than them. As you can keep extending the path to continue playing and with a bit of luck and good use of your powerups anybody can win!

Lots of great fun. Highly recommended.
