Magnitone WipeOut Microfibre Cleansing Cloths Review

Reviewed by Ann Durrell

It’s really easy after a long day or night out to just grab a wipe to take the day off. I found it took a fair few goes to get all my make up off and there was lots of smearing. When I had a bit more time, I would go for cotton wool and micellar water, but it didn’t get through my mascara. I had also noticed that recently my face was feeling dry, I was getting more blocked pores and my skin felt sensitive. I was also concerned on the environmental effect of wipes and cotton wool.

I am a firm fan of microfibre clothes for cleaning, they work wonders on my kitchen and bathroom without having to use lots of cleaning products. When I saw Magnitone WipeOut Microfibre Cleansing Cloths I was intrigued. The cloths are described as being able to remove all make-up, including long wear and oil based with just water and without smears. It sounded too good to be true, a cloth alone surely could not remove the layers of mascara I favour. I tried them out to see for myself.

The Magnitone cleansing cloths gift set I tried are packaged in a cracker, perfect for a Christmas gift. Inside the cracker are five cloths. As I opened it up, I was struck by how soft they feel. The cloths are pink with a white edging and a handy hook which I used to hang them to dry. Reading the instructions before using the cloths you must wash them at 30 degrees. After washing I popped them on my radiator and was impressed that they dry quickly.

That evening I gave the cloths a go for the first time. I ran the hot tap and soaked the cloth, then squeezed out any excess. As directed, I rubbed the cloth in circles all over my face before rinsing and squeezing again. Immediately I could see that the layers of makeup were disappearing before me, with absolutely no cleansing product – amazing! Next, I gave my eyes ago, I have found even some eye make-up removers take a while to get rid of my high-end mascara, but the cloths are brilliant. I held the cloth to my eye for a couple of seconds then rubbed gently, another rinse and repeat and my make-up was gone.

Apparently the microfibres’ in the cloths swell up and grab the make-up which is why they are so effective. I have been using them for a week now and I think they are amazing, a game changer. After use you can pop them back in the washing machine, leave to dry and they are ready to go again. I will not be going back to wipes and cotton wool, its Magnitone cleansing cloths all the way for me now.
