The Jolly Milliner is a newly refurbished, pub/restaurant, part of the Greene King family, near Luton central, hosted by friendly couple Lesley and Stephen Rodgers.

Outside the venue, there is ample parking and – weather permitting – an outdoor seating area. Inside there is plenty of seating, a large bar area, 3D tv and a pool table.  A popular venue for locals with reasonably priced menu, this makes this a busy restaurant particularly at weekends.

We were warmly greeted by pleasant staff who made sure we had everything we needed. We ordered the following:

Tennesee Chicken in a Jack Daniels sauce with chips, corn on the cob and salad £4.99 – succulent, full of flavour and perfectly sized portion.

8oz Rump Steak served with chips, onion rings, grilled half tomato and peas ordered a side order of garlic mushrooms £6.49 – cooked to order so be prepared to wait a little longer, but worth the wait.

For pudding we had:
Vanilla ice cream with raspberry sauce £1.49
Apple pie served with custard £2.29 -both delicious and a sweet treat.

Total cost of meal including drinks: £20.41 – superb value for money for such tasty, enjoyable food.

Please keep in mind, this is a very busy – and at times noisy – pub so this wont suit those looking for a quiet dining experience. However if you're looking for a value for money meal out, in a sociable and hospitable environment you won't go wrong with the Jolly Milliner.

A small word of warning: if you are using satnav the postcode takes you to a housing estate. Find your way on to the main Icknield Way and you can't miss it.
