I know I speak from many years ago and before nappy bins were around, that having them now really does help and makes a huge difference. Gone are the days of placing a solid nappy into a plain nappy sack, tying it up and wondering how to dispose of it, and before you know it the house can stink, which in turns, means your spending more money or air fresheners to mask the smell.
Well, not with Angelcare’s Nappy bin and refills. I have tried a few nappy bins before and I have to say, this cones out tops for me. It is so much more hygienic and does not smell at all, not even when the bin is full and it takes up to 28 nappies, yes, that right, 28 nappies, making it far less time consuming when having to empty the bin.
What makes it odour free is the air-seal which provides a barrier and prevents the smell of soiled nappies seeping on the air.
As you do not need to dispose of a nappy one at a time, the guide states that the bin takes up to 28 nappies as I have already mentioned, means far less plastic waste than some other brands I have used in the past. Bear in mind the smaller the nappy, the more it takes and the bigger the nappy, the less it takes. It also depends on how soiled the nappies are. We have a 6 week old grandchild and we counted 31 nappies.
The refill cassette which is included is great and is what makes holding the average daily soiled nappies for up to a month. The cassettes to replace are not always cheap, so bear that in mind when purchasing the bin, and be sure to keep an eye out for special offers and bundles as they can work out much cheaper. Let us be honest too, whilst a tad expensive, you are also looking after the environment with this bin as opposed to some others with less plastic waste. So be confident knowing that you are helping the planet by using this bin too.
ASSEMBLING THE BIN
This comes in two parts, so you will need to assemble them and is very easy to do.
It comes with a cassette and you will firstly need to pull the tab on it to remove the seal.
Then find the edge of the bag and whilst turning the cassette, pull the bag out bit by bit.
After you have pulled it out of the edge, place the bag back through the hole of the cassette and tie the end securely. Place the cassette on top of the inside of the bin and then close the lid. Your bin is ready to use.
HOW TO USE
To dispose of a nappy, lift up lid
Place nappy inside the bin, there is a spring system door which enables you to push the nappy down and the spring system door closes afterwards.
Press the lid back down when you have finished.
Repeats steps 1-3 inclusive each time you need to dispose of a nappy until such time the bin needs to be emptied.
To empty the bin, there is a scissor half way down the front of the bin with a button, just press and lift up and there you will see the filled up bag.
Pull the bag slightly down and then use the cutter which looks like a lever to cut off the bag. Make sure you have enough to tie the bag up.
With the piece of plastic left behind, be sure to tie a knot at the end of it ready for when you need to place nappies in the bin again.

GOOD TO KNOW
The bin can hold up to 28 nappies and no sign of any bad odours.
Germ and odour free.
The bin does not have a handle and can be quite heavy once full, so be sure to place it in an area that makes it easy to grab hold of.
Cassette bags cater for up to 180 nappies in total and again this will also be dependant on the size of the nappies you use.
Brilliant, Brilliant, Brilliant… Did I say it was brilliant… LOL. If you are considering or looking for a nappy bin, stop considering and looking and buy this one, without a shadow of a doubt, by far the best on the market I have tried to date.
