I received a pair of intima wear period pants by Bodyform to review. The pants I received were the black Light Brazilian in a size small.
I am between a UK 6- 8 and felt these pants fitted well. I think the XS might have been slightly tight. The pants looked and felt nice but being my first time wearing a pair of period pants I was unsure how comfortable they would be. But I was pleasantly surprised. They were very comfortable and felt no different than wearing a normal pair of pants. I at no point felt the protective layer that is in them. However, as this was the light flow pants, I am unsure whether the protective layer would become more noticeable in the moderate or heavy flow pants.
I am one of these unfortunate women that does not have a regular cycle so am often caught out and unsure just how heavy my period will be and what if any sanitary products I will need. So, I was very excited to try these pants out.
The morning I had some spotting I put them on and didn’t have to worry for the rest of the day. Some days that may have become nothing more for a few days, and so I am sometimes wasting products and other times it can lead to my period that day and often lead to ruined underwear.
The pants did a fantastic job of absorbing everything, so I was able to wear them the full day without any concerns of leakage. I’m not sure whether it is because the pants are black, but I was unaware of how heavy my period was. But as the next day my period was heavy, I suspect it might have been a light to medium flow.
Not only did the pants feel nice they looked quite pretty too with a little bit of lace around the top. Not like what I would have imaged for period pants at all. There are also different styles available to suit everyone – although there are no thongs which is a real pity. Each style comes in a range of colours – black, burgundy, vintage pink and zinc and a range of sizes from 2XS up to 3XL as well as an option in light, moderate and heavy flow. So, you can literally choose your period pant to suit your outfit!
RRP: The pants are priced between £22.00 – £24.99 with free postage direct from the Bodyform website
which I think is moderately priced. Unfortunately, they don’t appear to be widely stocked elsewhere. I have been converted very much into an advocate for period pants. Not only are they super convenient but they are also great for the environment too. Once you have a few pairs it will also save you pennies hot having to buy products each month.
Rating: I will definitely be purchasing some more pairs I would absolutely recommend them to friends and family. Giving these pretty and practical pants 5 out of 5 stars.
