Ruby Redfort Look Into My Eyes by Lauren Child Review

Reviewed by Louisa Nashir
I was recently chosen to review this fantastic looking book for What’s Good To Do and I couldn’t wait to get stuck in to it as looking online I saw the book had many fantastic reviews already.
The book arrived and the stylish silver cover made it look smart and modern and the multi-coloured eye really catches your eye!
The book is aimed at children but as an adult I enjoyed the read, it was gripping, fast paced and had you guessing throughout the story.
The book features characters Ruby Redfort and Clancy Crew, best friends forever with a passion for learning, Ruby is extremely clever and has a very talented mind and can crack codes at the drop of a hat.
Ruby lives with her parents who as also very clever and rich and their butler Hitch.
One day Ruby starts being sent messages on her mobile phone leading her to some very unknown places. It soon becomes clear whoever is sending the messages needs Ruby and soon she is lured in to ‘Spectrum’.
Spectrum is a secret agency and soon recruits Ruby to work for them, they promise she won’t be in any danger as long as she keeps what she is doing to herself.
Ruby fails to keep quiet and soon everyone she cares and loves is in terrible danger and the only way to stop her loved ones from trouble is to crack codes and bring down the people behind the threats.
Will Ruby be able to crack it or is she set to lose everything she ever cared about?
Well of course I am not going to tell you as it would spoil the surprise.
A well written book which I would read again without hesitation.
