I have a two year old grandson so I was delighted to receive Peppa Pig’s Grandpa Pig’s Boat Construction Set to review. Oliver and his six year old sister Heidi are huge fans of Peppa Pig and also enjoy building with bricks, so I knew this activity would be perfect for them. The set consists of large robust plastic colourful bricks, a sheet of stickers and an articulated Grandpa Pig figure, and is aimed at 18 months and over, but is also a great toy for slightly older children. It is ideal for developing a child’s fine motor skills as the bricks are a perfect size for tiny hands to play with. It develops creativity and hand eye co-ordination and is ideal for children to learn new skills whilst playing.
My grandchildren were very excited when we took the pieces out of the box, and following the easy to follow instructions, we built a sturdy boat with wheels built into the bottom, making it great for pushing around the room. We then had fun decorating the boat with the stickers of crabs, parrots and fishes and placing Grandpa Pig on his boat. Oliver loved attempting to rebuild his own design of Grandpa’s boat and then dismantling it and starting all over again. He really enjoys playing with construction toys and was kept busy for hours.
This is a great toy which will be played with over and over again. I would recommend this construction set as it is extremely sturdy and well made and at £19.99 is fantastic value for money.
