Silly Billyz Long Sleeve Bib Review
Silly Billyz Long Sleeve Bib
Reviewed by Shelley Owens
I LOVE THIS BIB! Not something I usually get so excited about, but I simply have to rave about it! From the word go, it was impressive. It arrived on a sturdy cardboard presenter which was easy to detach – I hate fiddly packaging!
I have to admit, I was a little dubious about how absorbent the fleece would be, but having road tested it with several cupfuls of juice, I can categorically say it is MIGHTY absorbent! Having used bibs with cotton fronts before, I’ve never been terribly impressed with them, anything very wet would just slosh around between the fabric and plastic backing. By using fleece, Silly Billyz have solved an age old problem. The added bonus of double poppers meant that my 18month old daughter found it doubly hard to whip it off! The full sleeves allowed me to keep the highchair harness out of reach so that her Houdini like attempts to escape her highchair were thwarted altogether – I don’t think the designers had this in mind but I have to say, as a mum, I found this very useful!
This bib is machine washable and can be tumble dried on a low temperature and I’m pleased to say that the lovely soft plastic sleeves and backing have remained so – other similar style bibs that I’ve used in the past, although claiming to be machine washable tend to become brittle and split – this one shows no sign of wear at all.
Had I not been given this try before I buy opportunity, I wouldn’t have been tempted to try it due to the price and my experience with similar products, however this is in a class of its own.
The age range is 6-24 months and I would definitely recommend it to any of my Mummy friends that are thinking of trying baby led weaning, it’s super absorbent and with the long apron and full sleeves, it totally protects their clothes.
I really want to give this product a five out of five, but purely due to the price I can only give it a four. You would need to have at least two, if not three of these, for washing and wearing if you were going to use them as an everyday product and that’s just not affordable for everyone. But it’s definitely worth investing in at least one for those special occasions when clothing simply must be protected!
