It is always a worry finding parking for theatres, but this was made easy as this venue has a multi storey car park beside the theatre. St John’s Car park was easy to find, easy to park and only cost £1 to park. The car park feels safe even at night and was easy to get to the theatre from. The theatre is an architectural gem during the light when the interior can be seen against the backdrop of the sun shining through the windows. It is a large venue with multiple entrances and a feeling of space and openness when we entered the building. The bar was well staffed and the interval pre-ordered drinks worked well and saved a lot of queuing time.
Staff were very polite and welcoming, guiding us to the correct ticket collection point, entrance door and interval arrangements.
This long running musical was executed with a fantastic production. The atmosphere in the auditorium was intense as the curtains were raised and the old favourites were played before the show began in earnest. The audience felt at ease enough to hum along to some of the favourite tunes, respectfully settling down as Joe McEldry made his first entrance as Joseph. The vocals were spectacular, the cast clearly having being chosen for their vocal talent rather than simply a name. Joe deserved his lead role and I hope I never grow out of crying at shows which are produced to perfection such as this.
Overall an excellent experience. I would highly recommend this musical to anyone who needs a good musical night out. Those with or without experience of theatre nights, it is a date night worth trying for everyone.
