The Diono Easy View Plus back seat mirror arrived in very sturdy plastic packaging preventing any risk of damage to the mirror. After unpacking everything I found that the mirror was robust and of good design.

The mirror fits to the back seat of the car with a clip that hangs over the back of the chair. It pivots with a ball joint which is convenient as you don’t have to constantly adjust your rear view mirror to get the perfect angle to view baby.

I drive a Vauxhall Astra and I have also tried it in my sisters Hyundai Getz and found it simple to switch over and works equally as well in each car despite the difference in the size.

Once the mirror is fitted it is easy to reach over and adjust it until you feel comfortable with the view in your rear view mirror. The mirror clipped on quite simply. I thought it was going to be a lot more complicated than it was but the instructions were clear to follow and therefore I managed to fit the mirror in only a few minutes.

The mirror is a good size which makes seeing your baby easy but it doesn’t block the view in your rear view mirror.

There is a remote control that comes with the mirror which is an ingenious idea. The remote allows you to simply press a button to light up the mirror. The LED’s on the mirror light up gradually which is great as it doesn’t startle your baby. This is a brilliant feature. The remote control is large which means I am not having to struggle to find it whilst I am driving. I can leave it in the car door and just reach down and quickly press the button to check my baby.

The light is handy as a distraction device when baby has woken up.

I have recently undertaken a long journey which ran late in to the evening and it was an absolute blessing to be able to see my baby during this trip. It really reassured me that my baby was ok. There have been numerous occasions when I have struggled to see my baby as I have a rear facing baby seat, even after switching the interior light of the car on it was difficult to see my baby’s face in my rear view mirror.

When the mirror is lit up it is not bright enough to distract from driving or cause a problem with vision.

DionoEasyViewPlus2I really do think this is an ingenious product. I have used a normal rear seat mirror in my car before using the Diono Easy View Plus mirror and during the day they work without a problem but as soon as the becomes darker it is almost impossible to see anything.

Having a light on the mirror meaning I can easily see my baby gives me peace of mind and gives me reassurance that everything is ok, this and the simplicity of installing the mirror and the ease of use are the reasons why I am giving it 5 out of 5.
