Joanna Lumley: It’s All About Me at The Lowry Manchester Review

The Lowry theatre was a sell out and it was all to see the beautiful, stunning, talented and mesmerising Joanna Lumley. There were fans of the Avengers, Fabulous, Sapphire and Steel, her worldwide travels or those that were simply ‘in love with her’ (as we established in the Q & A section!). She was all things to people and as she walked on stage impeccably dressed in white, everyone roared and cheered at her presence. She, as always, was charming, relaxed, warm and welcoming and as she talked us through her journey to stardom she filled the journey with humour and nostalgia and the montage of photos behind her gave way to clips of her modelling days, her first acting roles, the Avengers and of course her infamous role as Patsy Stone in ‘Ab Fab’. She spoke lovingly when she described her time on the desert island and showed us her keepsakes from this awesome experience (including the bra shoes). She shared with us her times with her travels and it was endearing. For the second half she was joined by her travel producer Clive Tulloch who with equal stage presence and wit asked the questions from the besotted audience. She answered all with love and humour and left us all wanting more. She thanked us all for coming to her show and she shared that she had a space in her heart for Manchester (following her short spell in ‘Coronation Street) and you Joanna – have one in ours.

Very well delivered with a mixture of narration and clips. A night that felt intimate, special and heart-felt. Joanna oozes warmth, sincerity and love and the audience adored her. A wonderful evening. Joanna is ‘Absolutely Fabulous’.

Sharing Joanna’s precious memories is precious itself! Fabulous!
