Under Armour Boxerjock Review

Reviewed by Keith Mitchell
These men’s boxer shorts, by Under Armour, come in a sturdy, well presented box with a plastic window on one side of the front and a good picture of someone wearing the underwear on the other side, so you can see what you are purchasing.
On initial inspection, the product gives a good impression. The material has a luxury feel to it similar to Lycra. Giving it a seriously strong pull about the seams appear to be well stitched. The material itself stretches in every direction and springs readily back into shape. The waistband with the logo on is about an inch wide. Again, it has excellent elasticity, does not roll over and keeps the shorts snuggly in place. The shorts are generously proportioned but retain the slight compression feel, with an excellent fly that maintains its shape.
The first test was normal wear. I found that the shorts felt as luxurious as my initial assessment. The legs are a snug fit with plenty of grip without being constrictive. Worn for two hours the item was very lightweight whilst still feeling substantial, gave plenty of support and showed no signs of riding up, wrinkling, no cutting in or being uncomfortable in any way.
Second test was a short spell on an exercise bike. I was very impressed that again they stayed compressing without being restrictive. It was quite a hot day but I felt totally comfortable and cool. The manufacturer boasts of Moisture Transport System to wick sweat away and speed drying of the material and anti-odour and I must say that at no time did I feel overheated or the need to change. The material felt dry to the touch.
The third test was a brisk ½ hour dog walk on a very hot day. I remained surprisingly cool and comfortable with no chaffing. The shorts gave plenty of support but with a good deal of stretch so that I found them very comfortable to wear, not restrictive in any way.
Having washed them in a machine with normal clothes I can report that they retained their shape and comfort completely.
In conclusion, I found this an excellent item, comfortable and supportive whilst doing the job. I would definitely recommend these to any sports person or for everyday use. With an RRP of £14.99 they are on the Sportsshoes.com website at £11.99. I think this represents excellent value for money.
A definite 5-star rating.
