Taco Football Women World Cup Game Review

Taco. Football. Woman. World. Cup. Would you be able to keep this crazy string of words in your mind? You will need to, to be able to win at this fast paced card game. Our family plays a lot of different board games and card games and we have absolutely loved getting competitive playing Taco Football Woman World Cup this week. This one is very fast paced and addictive. Definitely not one for quiet, relaxing play with an afternoon coffee.

The card game arrived in a very small, compact box which is just big enough for the 64 card deck and the folded instruction booklet. This is fantastic for us as it can easily be stored and we can take it with us on holidays, trips and to see family. The little box is bright and fun with the rather odd game name printed in bold. It also features a small logo showing how it is especially made as a licensed product to celebrate the women’s Fifa world cup. I absolutely love that as it makes it a lovely memento or keepsake from the women’s football that our family, like a lot of the nation, has become interested in.

The game itself is so quick and easy to set up and learn to play. A quick read through of the instructions and we were ready to play, with everyone clear on how to play. I noticed how well made the game is straight away with high quality playing cards and a sturdy box too. The deck is shuffled and then cards are dealt to each player in a face down pile. The number of cards depends on the size of the group playing. Left over cards are placed out of the way as they are not needed. Players take it in turns to flip a card over and simultaneously say a word – taco, football, women’s, world, cup – in that order going round the players clockwise. If the card matches the word every player must slap their hand on the pile of cards. The last player to do so must add the pile to their own pile. The winner is who manages to get rid of all of their cards first. Sort of like a reverse snap!

There are a few twists to the game though to make it a little more exciting and challenging. Firstly, after playing all their cards, players must then slap their hand FIRST on a match to actually win the game. Secondly, there are some wild cards which had us doing actions like cheering or making a beak with our hands!

Overall, this is such a fun game. We couldn’t stop playing, all wanting another round to try and win. Also one of the best features of the game is that it can be played with only two players or up to eight players. So it’s great just for the kids to have a play together or to get out with a group when we have friends and family over.

Taco Football Woman World Cup retails at £11.99 and I feel we are going to get a lot of use and enjoyment out of it making it really worth the price, especially as it is excellent quality.
