My favourite thing about Christmas and the lead up to it, is all the exciting limited edition items that arrive in the shops. I love pretty things and shopping for them, especially if they are Cath Kidston related. I’m a huge fan and have a large collection of items at home. As soon as I saw that this tin had been released for Christmas, I had to have it.
Cadbury’s have been making Roses chocolates since 1938 and I remember as a child, we always had a tin in the lead up to Christmas. My mum would then always save it and use it as a sewing box or a cake tin to make use of the tin. She would always hide the tin in her bedroom to save for Christmas but we would always find it and dig in. My mum’s name is actually Rose so it’s always special to have a tin of them for our family.
This tin of Roses is a special edition designed by Cath Kidston for 2021, packed full of yummy Roses chocolates which have been individually wrapped. The way that they wrap the chocolates has changed since I was little but they are still as delicious as ever. The tin has beautiful hand painted roses places around the tin. The tin I received was one of two designed created for Cadbury’s by Cath Kidston. Each tin is inspired by the popular floral prints from Cath Kidston and are truly stunning.
The two tins comprise of an 800g tin which is a larger circular tin in a lighter blue with the Roses to decorate. The second tin is a smaller 432g slightly darker blue tin with the Roses and a waved circle in shape. I received the larger tin, which I actually much prefer. The second tin is exclusive to Waitrose and retails for £5.99.
The tin was delivered promptly and packaged well. We obviously couldn’t wait until Christmas to eat them so we all dived in. My all time favourite Roses are orange and strawberry and they didn’t disappoint. That nostalgic taste was there! My children were happy and obviously it brought Christmas vibes to our house so we sat and watched an early Christmas movie while we dived into the tin.
I much prefer a traditional tin of Christmas treats rather than the more current plastic tubs. I find that they’re more user friendly and you’re more likely to reuse them than throw away.
I am going to use the tin as a new cake tin as it’s pretty deep and I’m in need of a new cake tin to use for Christmas visits to our parents. It fits in perfectly with my kitchen decor too!
Rating: I am very happy with this product and would rate it 5/5. I would definitely recommend to a friend and purchase myself in future.
