On the 6th of May, my partner and I took are two children aged 5 and 7 to Camelot theme park. The weather stayed dry for us, even if it was a bit overcast. The journey to the park, which is in Chorley, Lancashire was good, when we got there we were pleasantly surprised as the car park was free, so the day started with a bonus.

As is usual with two small children we made straight for the toilet, the first one we went to was through an entertainment building which had in it a place to eat, dodgems and a ball pool. Every block of toilets we went into were clean and tidy and there were a lot dotted around the park.

We decided that the best plan for our day would be to start with the rides closest to us and leave the wet rides till the end, so could change the children then so they weren't wet on the drive home.

There were a number of rides for the smaller child and more for the taller child (1.3m) so when you go maybe think about the height of your child, the website is a very good tool to use and lists the rides and heights (www.camelotthemepark.co.uk).

The day we went all the rides were open, there was also a smaller version of a lot of the bigger rides such as mini pirate ship, junior dragon ride, caterpillar ride also others like the carousel, the balloon ride teacups and ghost house so the kids didn't feel like they were missing out too much.

We really enjoyed Knight-mare which is a very high, fast and twisty roller coaster and worth any wait!

Excalibur which has two spinning human wheels at either end of a revolving arm and the whirlwind, another fast roller coaster which has a seating unit turning 360 degrees whilst running along the track at high speeds!

In addition to all the rides they offered other entertainment such as the falcon display which was amazing. There was also the wizards show and workshop, are two girls and everyone else really enjoyed.

All the staff throughout the day were fun, helpful and very smart looking.

We also attended the medieval knight show and we all agreed this was excellent. Watching knights jousting on horseback and hand to hand combat with fire all around and King Arthur’s made for good family entertainment.

There was also a farm, which my children loved as they are crazy about animals. Holly, my eldest daughter loved feeding the goats, which were free to roam around.

There were also a lot of extras, such as fairground games, mini golf. So be prepared to say no or take extra money!

There were places to eat offering different types of food or you could take a picnic with you as there are several picnic areas.

We finished our day with the two water rides the log flume and Pendragons plunge, both were excellent my daughters loved the flume as it got you the wettest but I thought the plunge was great as it was a little different to the norm sliding down on a small rubber dingy type vessel though twisting slides and tubes.

We had a great day and is well worth a visit.
