30 years ago, surcare made a promise not to put anything unnecessary into their products – and if it’s one thing they are good at, its keeping promises. Their tried and tested formula uses 0% fragrances, enzymes, acids, and dyes. ‘sensitive’ in no way means sub-standard, their range has great cleaning power even on a cool wash. They believe the last thing we should be worrying about is the laundry.

Allergy UK is the leading national charity providing support, advice, and information for those living with allergies, sensitivities and intolerance.
Surcare’s complete range has received the Allergy UK Seal of Approval – awarded to products with significantly reduced allergen content that have been independently clinically or dermatologically tested and proven suitable for sensitive skin.

I already use surcare washing up liquid and have been for many years due to other brands leaving my hands itchy, irritated and sore this is the only one that I have found to have no reaction too. I never knew they also produced laundry items, having a husband who has an allergy to man made fragrances we are limited to detergents that are for sensitive skin. So when I was chosen for this review I was eager to try out their laundry wash and fabric softener.

The items arrived well packaged. I had received non bio laundry liquid 28 washes, non bio laundry capsules 20 washes, fabric softener 21 washes, washing up liquid and complementary cup and 100% cotton shopping tote bag.

First thing I noticed is that they must have recently undergone a makeover. The outer packaging of the items is much brighter, more eye catching than previous packaging (still working my way through the old label design of washing up liquid purchased in lockdown). The new design makes you think of spring cleaning seeing the sunshine and butterflies. Notice how I said think! Lol. The bottles are a nice size, shape and easy to hold. The caps are easy to open which is great for people who struggle to open caps like myself but would need to be kept well away from the reach of children for safety.

Surcare although fragrance free it has a very subtle plain soap aroma. The washing liquid is a very pale translucent yellow colour and the fabric conditioner is white in colour. The directions of use for each product is clearly displayed on the products labels as well as their warnings and cautions.

I washed my clothes on my usual washing cycle of a quick wash on a temperature of 30 degrees. Once finished whilst removing clothes from the washer I could smell that the clothes were fresh and clean. I couldn’t see any left over residue from the detergents either like you sometimes find.

After a couple of days trialing this product my husband hasn’t had any skin irritation and we are pleased to have found a new laundry product too which we intend to continue to use.

With the products been sensitive to skin these are not only ideal for people with allergies and skin sensitivities but are delicate enough to use on babies and children’s clothing too.

Surcare products would be perfect for that spring cleaning regime and can be purchased from most top end supermarkets, these are a great addition to the 0% fragrance ranges at an affordable mid range price from £1.25 – £6.00.
