Well, there was a lot of excitement in my house the other day, when this little beauty arrived- Spidey and His Amazing Friends, Web Spinning Hauler. A 3-in-1 transforming vehicle. There is absolutely nothing more exciting to a 4 year old than Spiderman and the fact he brought his amazing friends along for the ride, to save the city from the villains, was an added bonus!

When I first opened the parcel, I was immediately struck by how robust the hauler looked, which is obviously an important issue, as 4 year olds are particularly heavy-handed and prone to dropping things and snapping bits off! I also liked the look of the hauler – bright red and blue colours, big Spiderman eyes to the front, Spiderman logo on both sides and a web-effect design to the tyres.

The hauler came in a cardboard box and was attached with the paper-type strings, meaning that pretty much all of the packaging was recyclable, which is a really important to me in current times. It was securely attached and easy to remove from the packaging, without needing to cut it out or unscrew it, which is often the case – meaning that I could get it out of the packaging quickly, without feeling too much pressure from the eager anticipation from the eyes of my son! Plus, no assembly was required – another bonus! I also liked that you could try the dial, before taking it out of the packaging – it’s important to see what you’re getting, before committing.

The hauler is a 3-in-1 transforming vehicle- Spidey driving the hauler whilst Ghost Spider and Miles Morales take turns to launch their web darts at the villains. There is a dial to the back, which when turned reveals either Ghost or Miles popping up out of the top. It was great to turn the dial and reveal the characters and also the fact that you could turn the dial to a closed position, keeping it all enclosed when not in use (lessening the risk of losing the darts into oblivion!)

Ghost has a double web launcher, whilst Miles has a single launcher. The set comes complete with 3 web darts, which click into the launchers and then you press down on the button, to ping the darts out. My son had to be careful about not pushing the button down, too far forward on the launcher, otherwise it had a tendency to point downwards, so the dart didn’t get outside of the hauler. However, once he worked it out, the darts flew well, for a short distance.

The hauler quickly whizzed across the lounge floor, and it moved really well, flying across to the other side of the room. Sometimes toys like this struggle to move on carpet and need a helping hand, but this was brilliant.

There are a number of other vehicles and characters in the Spidey & His Amazing Friends range, which is based on the popular TV show. There are lots of options to complete the collection, at varying prices if you know a Spidey enthusiast! However, this is the only product in the range I have experienced. This hauler is currently on sale in Argos at £23 – RRP is £30, at the time of my review. At the sale price, I believe it represents good value for money and would be a great Christmas present for a Spidey fan.
