Who doesn’t love slime?! It is a favourite in my household with a 6 & 9 year. Me not so, the worry they might take into a room with carpet or spill on the furniture. They would play with it for hours if left.
The children were delighted to get their hands on the So Slime Twist ‘N Slime Mixer. For them, it is a dream toy. They love making things at home with little adult help and minimal supervision. Slime is a favourite toy, and they have recently seen it advertised on TV.
The set includes:
One mixer & bowl
Six packets of slime
Six bags of decorations
Six dyes for the slime
a slime recipe card
The children quickly unpackaged the contents and began to make their slim creations. Following negotiations on which decorations each would use.
The instructions were easy to follow, and the creativity began. No input from me was needed. The children enjoyed choosing their own dye colours and decorations to make their slime unique and independently.
Initially, the slime was very sticky to touch when taken out of the packet. Once it has had a few minutes in the mixer with the dye & decorations added, it becomes much easier to handle and less sticky.
The mixer handle was easy to rotate in both directions, and the bowl removable for cleaning afterwards.
The slime came out of the mixer bowl nicely, with no leftovers stuck around the bowl.
The slime feels silky, stretchy, squishy and satisfying.
The slime did look impressive with the dye and decorations mixed in. Plus, it felt to be of better quality than the slime you usually buy in the pots.
You can mix several dyes and decorations together to create weird and wonderful creations. We have liked whipping up and mixing our own creations by following the recipe card and also by doing what we like.
It was a sensory delight playing with it and relaxing. It is easy to see why children love slime so much. Even, the Grandparents enjoyed slime time.
I liked that the packaging can be recycled and each of the slime bags is reusable for when you have made your creations. The bags are sealed well to keep the slime fresh.
The children thoroughly enjoyed making their slime creations and playing with them afterwards. Our favourite combination was purple and blue dyes.
Recommended age is 6+. I fully agree with this. Not because it is hard to mix the slime, dye and decorations together, but because the made slime looks very appealing and could be mistaken for a delicious-looking sweet treat when swirled into a pot.
Improvements and to increase longevity would be if you had all of the ingredients to make the slime from scratch. Or, to buy refill slime, dye and decorations so that the mixer can be reused.

Despite the children loving the set and having plenty of fun playing at home. With little mess created or set up time needed. I felt it was overpriced.
