Skinny Tan Notox Dream Serum Review

I recently read a magazine article about the best skincare routine for your age.  In my section for 60 and above one of the recommendations was to bump up the retinol to 1%, which is exactly the percentage in this product.  Although I have been aware of retinol for many years I’ve never used it before so I was very happy when I was asked to test notox dream serum by skinny tan.

First of all I love a product that can multitask and this one is a master multitasker.  It:
1. Helps to improve the appearance of the skin
2. Gives a nourishing, hydrating overnight treatment
3. Provides a healthy looking glow
4. It’s delicate scent helps to relax the mind and promote sleep

It comes in my all time favourite type of dispenser, pump action, making it so easy to control the amount of product used and the product is not exposed to the air with each use which over time can reduce the quality.  The instructions say that this product can be used on it’s own or along side your usual night product.  For this trial I used the product on it’s own.

The serum glides smoothly over the skin and sinks in quickly.  It’s none greasy and leaves a matt finish to the skin.
On the first application my skin felt rather dry and tight but I read that this is normal as the skin adjusts to the active ingredients and on the second application I didn’t feel any dryness at all. Retinol promotes cell turnover which naturally slows down as we age and after three applications my skin was visibly brighter and had a natural looking glow which I am sure will only get better with continued use.

To start with the product should only be used once or twice a week and then gradually increased to a maximum of four times a week as your skin gets used to the ingredients.  It is also important to use a SPF factor sun cream after using retinol products as your skin will be more sensitive to UV rays.

I think this is a beauty must have, especially for this time of year when we are coming out of a long winter with a pasty looking skin.  This product will get your skin looking healthy and glowing ready for the summer.
