Sinderfella Review
Sinderfella
Manchester’s Pantomime with Balls!
Reviewed by Michelle Wright
This colourful, adult comedy packed version of Cinderella is filled full of good old pantomime audience participation and lots of festive fun!
Starring Kat (Big Brother) as the fairy godmother, the international drag artist Miss Thunderpussy as Sinderella, Prince Charming (aptly renamed Prince Donkey Dick) played by Matthew Greenwood, the two very ugly sisters are played by the shows writer Simon Gross and Dale Vickers, and Nicksy (Simon Nicks) previously a Galaxy 102 DJ as Buttons, this show will have you in stitches!
As you enter the auditorium and take your seats you’re greeted by Miss Thunderpussy – who somehow finds herself a seat on the front row – a place only for the very brave!
The storyline is a familiar one… When Cinderella doesn't turn up the Fairy God Mother played by Big Brother housemate, Kathreya Kasisopa needs to find a plan and arranges for Miss Thunderpussy to play the part of Cinderella (which she does an amazing job of!) – but neither Buttons or Prince Charming realize that Cinderella is actually a drag queen!
The show is upbeat and benefits from classic floor fillers with obvious title innuendos such as “Like a Virgin.”
This adult show is comedy packed but not suitable for the prudish or shy natured amongst us; and puts a new meaning to the immortal panto phrase of ‘he’s behind you!’
