A decent night’s sleep is largely dependant on how comfortable you feel and of course it is not just the bed and mattress, but more essentially the pillow which can make or break how refreshed you feel in the morning. I think this is especially true as we get older and (for women) the decline in hormones can wreak havoc with our temperature and sleep patterns.
The Simba hybrid pillow, retailing at £109, uses astronaut inspired temperature regulation (so it is literally out of this world sleep!), which absorbs, stores and releases heat when you need it. I would say that it is a soft to medium firmness but you can top up or remove the breathable and lightweight nanocubes inside easily by just unzipping the pillow and the inner. I prefer my pillows to be a little more on the firmside so I am going to be getting hold of some more of the nanocubes that are available on amazon or direct from Simba. They even include a little bag for you to store them in if you have excess! The perfect customisable pillow!
I have slept on this pillow for over a week now and can honestly say that it has improved my sleep so much. There is no more tossing and turning trying to find the cool side of the pillow as the technology ensures that it is always at the perfect temperature. The pillow is the same texture both sides and there is a mesh border for maximum airflow. I am a side sleeper and the pillow keeps my head and neck supported to ensure i get a quality night’s sleep.
This pillow would make the perfect gift for someone who suffers with back and neck pain also as you can adjust the firmness depending on what you prefer. My husband also commented that my snoring (what me!?) is now much improved so that can only be a good thing.
The pillow is a is a standard 45×70 cm and delivered in a large study cardboard box and is well packaged and protected. I was impressed that there wasn’t the usual chemical smell that can be on similar products and it was able to be used straight away. It is machine washable which is a brilliant feature.
Getting a good night’s sleep is imperative to our overall health and quality of life so I think having a good pillow is the best investment you can make if it will improve your sleep so you wake up refreshed and ready to tackle the day ahead.
All you need to do is pop on your own pillowcase and drift off into the land of nod!
