Peppa Pig World
Paulton’s Theme Park

On Friday 10 May I was given the fantastic opportunity to review Paulton's Family Theme Park including Peppa Pig World. My sister and her 3 year old daughter were visiting so we packed everyone in the car – drove for 1hr 15min and arrived at 11am with two very excited toddlers. We live in Reading Berkshire and the trip down was an easy ride and the park is very well signposted from the major roads and easy to find.
We were very pleasantly surprised to find staff showing us where to park, yet leaving spaces between cars to unpack.
Entry is very easy – everyone under 1meter is free so you just pay for adults, toddlers and children. We would have paid for 3 adults and one toddler £98 whereas a comparable attraction closer to us would have set us back £130!
However just because its cheaper is it value for money?
The turntable to get into the park worked smoothly and the print your tickets at home and in advance feature is superb! I had spoken to some fellow visitors who had booked in advanced (you do save ££) and thought the booking was dead easy – you can even do it through a mobile app!
Throughout the park there were loads of lockers to keep your personal belongings a feature we appreciated as we brought a packed lunch!
We obviously headed straight for Peppa Pig World. I could hardly tame two toddlers. Even my sister’s little girls who live in Germany and have no idea who Peppa Pig is were unstoppable!
Frankly – I was excited too! We clearly benefitted that we were visiting on a weekday, outside of school holidays. There were only a few queues and in the morning the kids were still excited enough to wait. We tried pretty much every age appropriate ride – some of them had a queue sign indicating how long the wait might me – we liked that. Some didn't – we rather had known!
We loved, loved, loved seeing Peppa and George – yes I might have shouted and danced too!
I thought my 4 year old might be scared of heights and yes he was but actually I was worst.
There were loads of photo opportunities. I don't like them! However this park had something that made me think – they offered a photo pass 4 photos for £20! Now again – maybe not but you can use these anywhere in the park – not just Peppa Pig World but also the remaining park! Or if you were coming back – us them then! So we used them and loved our pictures!!!
With two little ones you are guaranteed two things:
1. They will be hungry
2. They will need a loo
There are loads of food places. Prices are not extortionate but not cheap either but should you choose to stop somewhere the restaurants are clean and have plenty of high chairs.
Also one thing I really loved was the fact that there were so many spaces for picnics. There is plenty of green space to just enjoy some sunshine and hang out! Loved that!
Toilets: OMG, plenty of them. My son loved the fact there was a seat for him and one for mummy and changing facilities for babies! Very clean and in easy reach!
So after 4 hours we had still not seen everything of Peppa Pig World but I wanted to see the rest of the park! Unfortunately I had missed the last 4D Cinema show and I was disappointed. It's brand new and I really wanted to experience it. Next time I just leave them kids behind and run!
So off we went to the remainder of the park. Oh dear – I had absolutely no idea how big the park was! There were so many more rides!!! Adult ones and children ones! More picnic areas – even a water splash area. Gosh I wished it was summer already! Too cold to let them monkeys loose but if they had gotten wet I would have used the human dryer! They looked funky and the adults I saw use them looked like they enjoyed both the water ride and the dryer.
So we tried some regular rides and loved them just as much. We found staff to be extremely helpful and accommodating. Even if my two were the only ones on the ride it went! And we could stay on for a second round 🙂
And then I found a hidden pearl! There is a whole garden and mini zoo hidden away between the parks. It's a secret heaven of peace and quiet. It's a superb place for some time out, a bit of a rest and just being surrounded by trees, shrubs and birds.
I wish we have had more time but after 6 hours we have all had enough! Convenient that you can book a 2 day ticket and/or a hotel holiday. I would certainly recommend making this a 2 day stay if you don't want to completely exhaust yourself and actually if I didn't have 2 11month old twins that prevent me from spending time just with son, I would actually consider investing in an actual annual ticket.
This was a totally enjoyable trip. I have had a superb time and my son was so excited that he woke at 6am, wouldn't sleep on the way down, would sleep on the way back and eventually went to sleep at 8pm and couldn't wait for Monday to come to tell all his friends!
This family park got 5/5 on all accounts:

We LOVED it there and you can count on us coming back – although I will avoid weekends or school holidays as I can imagine them to be super-duper busy. But why not – it's an amazing family park!!!
