Sandisk iXpand Wireless Charger Review

Reviewed by Debbie Talbot

My teenage daughter has become so hard to buy for and I have to admit that I can be a bit of an uncool mum when it comes to knowing her fashion tastes. She is, however, a massive tech lover so I knew I couldn’t go far wrong when I chose to review a Sandisk iXpand Wireless Charger. She and I both seem to get through numerous iPhone USB leads and her dad seems to forever be buying them (we clearly aren’t very careful with them). I had a period of time recently where I struggled to get any charge into my iPhone 8 using a non-wireless charger. The wireless charger is compatible with Qi™-compatible iPhones, Samsung™ and other Android phones. It even has built-in storage (128GB/256GB) so that you can automatically back up your contacts, photos and videos simply by placing your phone on the charging base. You can even leave your phone case on to charge your phone, offering better protection for your phone.

The product arrived quickly and in perfect condition. As a bit of a technological novice I was relieved to see that the charger consisted of a plug-in lead (6ft/1.8m) and the changing unit itself. The charger part of the product looks sleek and elegant. I am not a fan of ‘busy’ designs and was relieved to see that this was not the case. The design was perfect so that anything placed on top of it to charge does not slip off. This was great as once my daughter knows that she is expecting something she is usually chomping at the bit to try it out. Her face lit up when she saw it. She received some Air Pods as a birthday gift this year and had been struggling to charge them. Having this charger has definitely made her life easier. She just places the air pods on the base of the charger. It couldn’t be simpler. She also now has an excuse for wanting an iPhone 8 as she cannot use the iXpand wireless charger with her current iPhone. She even took the wireless charger with her on a family trip overseas during half term week. That is testament to how useful it has been in her life.

The iXpand wireless charger is worth every penny of its retail price just for how fast it charges, not having to keep buying iPhone charge leads and ease of use. This product would make an excellent Christmas gift idea for that Tech Lover in your life or even as a treat to yourself of a product which truly makes life easier. Everyone in our little family has used this device. We actually probably need to buy a couple more at some stage.

Sandisk offer a fantastic range of items – mobile storage, cards & readers, USB flash drives, SSD and mp3 players. I have been fortunate enough to try out other items from their product range in the past and every item has been robust and able to withstand the test of time. Please see
