Ravensburger Peppa Pig’s Muddy Puddle Game Review

Reviewed by Lynsey Miller

This very simplistic game created by Ravensburger is perfect for small children. It is set on a green hill with a number of small muddy puddles that lead up to the big Peppa Pig figure standing on top of the hill. The purpose of the game is to move your little George figures up the hill to join Peppa without falling into any of the muddle puddles on the way. There are a handful of the puddles that when Peppa is turned open up and if there is a George figure on one it will fall down. Taking it in turn each player takes a card and moves their George figures the number of puddles noted on the card or if they choose a Peppa card clicks the Peppa to open the puddles. The game is very straightforward and easy for kids to follow. It reminded me a little of the game Frustration that I played with my family as a child.

The game itself is fairly sturdy. There is not too much to it so great for little ones. It’s one big hill with the puddles apart of it, there is a large Peppa figure and x George figures in each of the x colours. There are a handful of cards with Peppa’s friends on them. The set could perhaps have benefited from having some more cards to ensure there are plenty should any get damaged or misplaced over time which with small children is always a possibility.

I played it with my daughter who is almost three years old and a huge Peppa Pig fan so was super excited when she saw Peppa, George and friends. It took quite a few turns before she grasped the concept of the game but she nonetheless really enjoyed counting the puddles as she moved her little George figure up the hill. And was so excited when the figures fell through the muddle puddle. The game doesn’t take too long so there is no problem holding young one’s attention.

We also played it with my five-year-old niece and she too had lots of fun. Although she was much more strategic with her moves and very competitive! So it is great for slightly older kids too.

This probably isn’t a game you will be playing for hours at any one time, but it does certainly provide lots of fun for kids and be one kids will continue to bring out to play.

The game retails at £19.99 and can be purchased at all major toy stores including Amazon. I think it is reasonable value for what you are getting and will be a huge hit for all those Peppa fans. Its recommended for kids four years old and above but I think younger kids would also enjoy it however it does probably have an upper age limit and maybe not one for those big kids.

This game is a definite winner in our household, and I think would be a fantastic Christmas gift for any special children that have made it onto your nice list this year. I would give the game four stars out of five.
