In Time Review

In Time (12a)

Reviewed by Delphi Ellis

Written and Directed by: Andrew Niccol

Genre: Action/Sci-fi

Starring: Justin Timberlake, Amanda Seyfried, Cillian Murphy

Running time: 109 minutes

Will Salas (Timberlake), a seemingly normal 25 year old man lives with his mother and spends his day at work  watching the clock.  Nothing unusual about that you might think.  In this future world, no one looks a day older than 25 years old – nothing wrong with that either. The twist is when you discover that Salas has been 25 years old for three years and every day his time is money – literally.  Time is the currency for bus fares, loan repayments even drinks at the bar.  If you waste your time or spend it unwisely your time will run out and, it comes as no surprise that some have more time on their hands than others.  Salas decides to even the odds when he meets a millionaire's daughter Sylvia Weis (Seyfried) and challenges the Time Keeper Raymond Leon (Murphy) to a run for his money with a plot to steal time.  Timberlake plays a fascinating role alongside Seyfreid and turns this philosophical concept in to food for thought as well as a nail biting, all action feature.
