Puressentiel Beauty Sleep Gift Set Review

Reviewed by Elly Sax

I don’t sleep, or rather I do, but the quality of sleep I get is poor. I think like a lot of people I spend my day exposed to screens, pollution, noise and stress and when it comes to sleep I fall into bed exhausted rather than feeling ready to relax and recharge. Puressentiel Beauty Sleep consists of a green 100% cotton pouch with the Puressentiel logo printed in white on one side. It closes with a zip in contrasting orange which gives a quirky feel to the products. When opened it reveals 2 boxed products inside. This would make a fantastic Christmas gift for any insomniac, or, for the loved one who needs to devote a bit more time to looking after themselves rather than other people. The products look very high end, smell amazing and actually do what they say on the box.

The Puressentiel Rest and Relax Air Spray is the first product. It is labelled as being 100% pure and natural. I think this is great as I’m always on the lookout for products which work but don’t add to the toxic load I’m exposed to. The spray is 75ml and contains 12 essential oils and can be used during the day to provide relaxation and soothe stress, but also at night, to prepare you for a restful nights sleep. The scent when sprayed was gorgeous, you could smell the essential oils and it was obvious the quality was really good, the spray wasn’t greasy which I was pleased about. The 12 oils included Asia Rosewood, Roman Camomile, Cypress, True Lavender, Lemongrass, Mandarin, Marjoram, Neroli, Orange, Palmarosa, Bitter Orange Petitgrain and Sandalwood. As a combination it really worked. You could smell the mixture of citrus first, which is quickly followed by the lavender and the scent ended for me on the more woody notes. I used this spray in the afternoons as a room spritz, I was feeling slightly overwhelmed by the amount to do for Christmas and using the spray gave me a few minutes of peace to calm myself down. Obviously this could be done without the spray hut I feel it definitely enhanced the experience of calm. I also used the spray in the bedroom at night, to help aid a more restful settling period before going to sleep. I think it worked, I managed to go to sleep more quickly than usual and felt more relaxed prior to sleep.

The other product included in the gift set is the Puressentiel Beautiful Skin Organic Essential Elixir, it certainly is beautiful. The Elixir comes in a 30ml bottle with a pump so you can dispense just the right amount, I found I only needed 2 pumps for my face and another 2 for my neck and decollete. The instructions said to use it twice a day and included detailed diagrams of just how to use the elixir to get the best results. I loved that it included this information and using the elixir felt like a real treat. The smell was phenomenal, I could smell the lavender straight away and this was complimented by the Geranium which is one of my favourite oils. The elixir also contained Ylang Ylang and Immortelle essential oils in a base oil, but rather than just one base oil the elixir included 4, Rose hip, Borage, Evening primrose oil and Sesame. I was particularly pleased to see Rose hip oil in there as I know it is great for scarring and helping the skin rejuvenate. After using twice a day I got more comfortable with the massage. Techniques and didn’t need to refer to the leaflet as much. I found using the oil really relaxing and I saw a huge improvement in my skin on my face and neck. My skin in both areas seemed smoother and the skin on my face looked plumper and brighter.

I would highly recommend this product to anyone looking for a Christmas gift for a loved one, or, as a treat for themselves. It feels like far for than £20 worth of products, I would pay that for the elixir alone.
