A perfect stocking filler for children and teenagers.
According to the 13years olds “it’s like a mini-football league in your pocket. The game is about building the ultimate team / squad and outsmarting your opponents”.

I think I may be late to the party with this traditional trading game, as my daughters (13) and son (9) have only just got into them. Although, I was reluctant to start a collection at the beginning, as often I find the children lose interest or it becomes a job for me to sort! However, these cards and games exceeding my expectations and 2 weeks in, the children are still playing happily with the trading game, and it has become a daily conversation starter in the car on school pick up to see if they have managed to get any “swaps” with their friends. The biggest success was when my son has his friend over, and they chose to unpack the next set of cards and work out if they had any swaps. This was definitely a win for me, as normally they would ask to go on the Switch (it was raining!). The best part, which I was not aware of (but my son informed me after asking for my phone!), is that you can play online (there is a free app to download) – so don’t forget to scan the QR codes on the back of the individual packs of cards as this offers new, portable dimension for when you forget the cards or need to fill some time.
The Tin adds a touch of collectability and portability to the experience. Each Tin contains a curated selection of cards featuring star players, dynamic action shots, and special edition cards. The sturdy Tin not only protects your collection but also makes it an excellent gift for any football fan (or collector). The Pocket Tin has become a regular item in my handbag, so we can take the cards to anywhere there maybe time to have a quick look at the cards and play! So, a perfect dinner game for teenagers and children (or for adults!). My children were even looking at the cards whilst waiting in the car in the rain for a cross country meet – so a perfect compact travel game.
For those looking for a quick dose of adrenaline or seeking specific players to add to their collection, the Single Pack(s) are an ideal choice. These packs come with a random assortment of 6 cards, adding an element of surprise to the collecting experience. Whether you’re after your favourite team’s players or chasing rare inserts, the Single Pack(s) provide an affordable and exciting way to expand your collection.
My children have provided the following on how to play the game:
1. Build Your Squad: you need to elect your favourite players from the cards you’ve collected to build a squad but be sure to check the stats as this will help you win.
2. Matchups is where you compare the stats of the players you have chosen (I think this is quite like Top Tumps), the player with the higher stat wins the matchup.
3. Special Moves and Tactics: there are special edition cards which help you outsmart your opponent and secure a win.
4. Goal Scoring: when you win a matchup you get a goal-scoring opportunity. This is where you need to have already established how many goals wins (we had a small disagreement about this, when it was announced the next goal wins!).
In summary, the game combines strategy, luck, and the thrill of competition, making it an engaging experience for both casual and dedicated players and even the non-football aware of us, are able to join in to create some nice family time.

Overall, I give these cards and game 4.5 out of 5 (my children gave it 5 out of 5. My only slight deduction as we needed to buy the folder (although Santa is delivering this!) to make playing the game slightly easier.
