If you are looking for a Valentines gift as an alternative to the traditional flowers, chocolates, or wine then there are some fantastic beauty and hair care sets out there to choose from. I’d be the first to admit that that I’m not the best at taking care of my hair, leaving it dry and dull, so a premium haircare product would be a perfect gift for me.
I was then delighted to find out that I had the opportunity to review a hair mask from Turkish beautician Nez Hasan who is based in North London, quite local to me. When the hair kit arrived, it really did look like a premium product. Set in a natural colour carboard box subtly branded in black writing, there were three products nestling in a bed of natural shredded paper. There was a box containing an oil hair mask, a bottle of antibacterial spray and what looked like a double ended razor in a clear plastic case. I was immediately intrigued and couldn’t wait to take a look. The Hairgredients oil hair mask is in a 50ml glass bottle and looks as pretty as a classy perfume. The classic looking off white box has the directions for use on the rear and the ingredients and description on the side. It’s in the directions for use that you find out what the other two products are for, the razor isn’t actually a razor at all, it’s a Hairgredients Derma Roller for use when applying the oil to your roots and the 50ml plastic bottle of antibacterial spray is for cleaning the Derma Roller. Antibacterial cleaning should be done after every use.

I was pleased to see that the oil hair mask is 100% natural and has a list of natural ingredients such as Aloe Vera and Almond Oil together with Keratin and Vitamin E for hair strength. The oil is also vegan friendly, fragrance, chemical, preservative & cruelty free so comes with excellent credentials.
The mask is designed to activate and stimulate hair follicles to encourage new, stronger, and healthier hair and can be used in a few different ways, just to the ends of your hair, to the scalp & hairline, and as a full head mask. The bottle comes with a glass pipette so you can easily use just a few drops, which is all you need for a daily application to the ends of your hair. For the scalp and hairline, you use the Derma Roller prior to the oil drops, rolling it over sections of hair 3-5 times. I found the roller to be very sharp and quite uncomfortable, so I kept the roller application to a minimum, but this can be done everyday if your scalp is less sensitive than mine. For a full mask you apply as per the scalp and hairline, then cover with a towel or shower cap and leave anywhere from 1 hour to overnight. Leaving on just 1 hour left my hair shiny, less frizzy looking and much healthier, whilst my everyday go too of just applying to the ends of the hair banished that split end look that I often end up with.
The Hairgredients Gift Kit is £62.00, so not it may not be as cheap as the chocolate or flower option, but it will last a lot longer. You only need a few drops per application so the 50ml bottle goes a long way. It doesn’t have a fragrance to clash with your perfume so together with its vegan and cruelty free credentials it means you can give the kit as a delightful Valentines gift in complete confidence.
