Whittard Rhubarb & Custard White Hot Chocolate Review

Recently the fabulous team at Whittard kindly sent me a gift box containing their scrumptious sounding Limited Edition Rhubarb & Custard flavour White Hot Chocolate (RRP: £9) and a jar of Mini Marshmallows (RRP: £6) to try out.
I was delighted with the box as rhubarb is one of my all-time favourite flavours and being February, it was definitely hot chocolate weather!
The white box was beautifully designed and adorned with illustrated leaves and plants with the Whittards logo central. The gift box was finished off with ribbon and looked incredibly special.
A lot can be said about a gift by its packaging, so I knew that the contents would be incredible, and I wasn’t wrong!
Whittard is a well-known company which is loved and respected by many all over the world. Whittard products are classy and you know your taste buds are in for a treat. Whittard was founded by Walter Whittard in 1886 and hot chocolate was the heart of his business. The Whittard brand would go on to be best known for its luxurious cocoa.
Ok I see you shaking your heads in confusion… Rhubarb and Custard Hot Chocolate???
Well yes it is a little ‘out there’ but like I mentioned earlier I am a massive fan of rhubarb so I was excited to try this drink.
I am not a massive fan of white chocolate as I find it very sickly, so I tend to avoid it at all times, but with this mix I was pleasantly surprised.
The rhubarb flavour sliced through the super sweet white chocolate and custard notes and it was very enjoyable.
My 13-year-old daughter who is also a hot chocolate fanatic joined me for a cup and was fascinated that the drink turned pink when the hot milk was added to the powder.
Now of course what does hot chocolate need? That’s right! Marshmallows!
My daughter always asks for marshmallows on top of her hot chocolate so was thrilled when I passed her the 220g jar which was in the gift box.
The mini marshmallows are the perfect size to make your hot chocolate a real decadent treat and the pink and white colour of the marshmallows complemented the pink hot chocolate perfectly.
Being a limited edition is a little saddening for me as I have found the perfect drink for me. I will be hiding what’s left of my 350g container, as I will be sad when it’s finished.
Whittard have taken a retro sweet shop flavour and turned it into something magical!
I cannot wait to take a look at their website to see what other exciting flavour combinations are available to buy.
With Mother’s Day and Easter fast approaching, I certainly would not be disappointed to receive this wonderful gift box and its contents.
I would go as far to say I would prefer a jar of the Limited Edition Rhubarb and Custard White Hot Chocolate to an Easter egg!
