Eight years on from the defeat of Good Man Gone Bad, Harvey Dent is still seen as a hero, with the posthumous "Dent's Law" putting 1000 criminals behind bars with no chance of parole. Crime is down but Commissioner Gordon.
(Oldman) is still braced for war especially as the Batman (Bale) took the fall for Dent's death. No one has seen or heard from him since. Now crippled by his injuries the masked warrior's alter ego, Bruce Wayne, remains a recluse since the death of his one true love.
Meanwhile a violent new criminal seems to be waging a battle with the city of Gotham in the form of Bane (Hardy) as Selina Kyle (Hatthaway) steals from every rich man in the city. But there's an even bigger problem. The city's energy resources are depleting and Miranda Tate (Cottilard) must try to save the city when the Wayne Industries board take ownership of his empire in his absence, with a remarkable invention for sustainable energy. All is not well in Gotham City and plenty more can go wrong especially when Alfred.
(Cane) must make an important decision regarding his future with the Dark Knight. Thankfully all is not lost with the unsuspecting presence of a street cop Blake (Gordon-Levitt) who makes it is his mission to bring Bane down and restore balance to the city.
