What better way to sample all the delicious party food from Morrisons than on the evening of the X-Factor final of 2013… We all sat down to an almost 'Boxing Day style buffet' and worked our way through all the goodies!

American Party Platter £2.50
The American Party platter was a delicious combination of garlic mushrooms, potato wedges and onion rings. As per the instructions we added the wedges and mushrooms onto a wire rack and put them in the oven for 10 minutes and then added the onion rings for a further 15 minutes.

The battered onion rings were crispy and tasty – not at all fatty.

The wedges were in all honesty too spicy for my daughter and I, although my husband loved them… The copy on the front didn't describe them as spicy – this was only on a smaller description on the reverse – so the taste took us by surprise.

The garlic mushrooms were my favourite – so very tasty and just the right amount of Garlic flavouring.

The American platter is presented using a sleeve with a transparent packet which is great as you can see how much food you will receive before purchasing.

Poppin' Chicken £1 Quantity: 12
The chicken was packaged as a box with a bag of the poppin' chicken inside. As per the instructions, we added these onto a tray and placed them in the oven for 10 minutes.

These pieces of chicken were really tasty… Pieces of chicken breast coated in breadcrumbs with a light seasoning of pepper. My seven year old daughter ate most of these poppin' chicken – she absolutely loved them!

Pastry Party Feast – 70 pieces £5
This was quite a large box – great for buying in bulk or for entertaining a large amount of people. We only used half of each of the packets – the rest are in the freezer to use again over the holidays.

Within the box are 2 bags and 2 boxes of pastry items: 17 cheese straws, 17 sausage rolls, 17 cheese and onion pasties and 12 chicken and bacon parcels.

We cooked a selection of each for 20 minutes (except the cheese thins which only took 10 minutes) in the oven as per the instructions.

I was a little intrigued about the cheese strips as they were just a flat piece of pastry with a little cheese sprinkled on the top – however after 10 minutes the pastry rose in the oven and out came some surprisingly very tasty snacks!

The sausage rolls were delicious and not greasy compared to some other makes perfect buffet party food.

My favourite items were the cheese and onion pasties and the chicken and bacon parcels, which almost looked like lattices. They were so very delicious, just the right size to have more than one 😉

I am so surprised at the price point! I thought this would be so much more for such lovely tasty party food items – defiantly one I will be buying again!

We had a lovely evening tasting all this fabulous party food from Morrisons. I will certainly be popping into the store and buying some for the parties we have planned over Christmas – very tasty, and very reasonably priced!

One point to mention is that all of the Morrisons party range can be cooked at 200c – this may not sound like such a selling point but for those who have put together a buffet, you will understand the juggling of cooking times and oven temperatures, so this makes things that bit easier.
