With Autumn half term week in full swing, I find it really difficult to entertain my 2 little rascals, Heidi, 5 and Oliver, 2 with it being so cold outside. I love to take them to watch live shows at every opportunity though, as I find it is an important experience for them. When we were given the chance to see Milkshake Live at the Lowry Theatre, we were all very excited.
With Oliver having just turned 2, we got him a babe in arms ticket and purchased an additional adult ticket, so that my husband could accompany us to help (Oliver can be a handful). The staff at the box office were very helpful and found us a ticket close by across the aisle.
I thought that with my daughter being 5,that she would be too old for the show and would be bored easily. Boy, was I wrong! Both of my little monkeys had a whale of a time and danced away with all of their favourite characters from the Milkshake morning show. My daughter was particularly excited to see Noddy and Little Princess, these are 2 of her favourite characters on TV.
The show is hosted by two of the presenters from the Milkshake morning show who were accompanied by many of the Milkshake characters such as Bananas in Pyjamas and Toby’s traveling circus. The storyline was Milkshake Monkey’s birthday party, it was great as you got to see all of the characters before watching the party after the interval.
The first half of the show was 30 minutes before a 20 minute interval followed by a 20 minute second half. I found this was really nice timings, gave us chance to pop to the toilet, let this kids have a wander around and it wasn’t too long of a day for the children.
Overall my children had a great time, they sang, they danced and the whole audience had a fantastic day.
Milkshake Live is currently touring the UK. For more information and tour dates click here.
