Miffy Jumper

Growing up in the late 80’s and early 90’s Miffy was a massive part of my childhood and I loved collecting Miffy merchandise, so receiving the Miffy Wishing on a Star jumper was a real trip down memory lane. It brought back so many fond memories of growing up and playing ‘swap-shop’ in my primary school playground with my friends. We were always excited to see what Miffy items our friendship group had to ‘swap’.

Miffy was a huge brand during my childhood and everyone was ‘Miffy Mad’, and it’s clear to see why.

Miffy was born in 1955 by Dick Bruna after years of storytelling to his young son about a little white bunny named Miffy. Miffy’s look now is the one I remember so fondly but before then she looked somewhat different. Miffy is Dick Bruna’s most well known and loved character and is a worldwide brand. Miffy first came into my life in the form of a book and from then I went on to collect stuffed toys, videos, art supplies as well as small collectables which I used to swap at school with friends. Just a simple browse online opens up a whole world of Miffy related merchandise, websites, fanbases, etc.

Considering Miffy is now 64 years old, she has never lost her appeal, from her orange dress to her beautiful button nose. Miffy continues to win hearts both young and old all over the globe.

The jumper I received is very much a perfect gift for a Miffy fan like myself. The main focus is, of course, Miffy (and rightly so).

I received was the ‘Wishing on a Star’ design and was over the moon when I opened the package. The jumper is mainly white and is covered in bright yellow stars and shows Miffy sat on a shooting star with the phrase ‘Wishing on a Star’ above and below it.

Being a fan of slogan tops and character jumpers I was pleased to see that the star design continued to the back of the jumper. A lot of character jumpers usually only decorate the front, so this made the jumper even more special.

The quality of the jumper is sublime and it is thick and warm, with a thick collar and hem. It is the perfect garment for cold winters in Manchester! The material is 100% Acrylic and the jumper has the usual care instruction printed clearly onto the label. I was pleased to see the jumper was also mad in the UK. Being a proud Brit I like it when items are made over here rather than being shipped in from abroad, I am all for keeping UK businesses afloat so I think it is wonderful that Miffy as a brand uses UK manufacturers.

I shall be keeping my Miffy jumper to wear this winter and hiding it away from my children as my 18-year-old stepdaughter has already admired it and hinted quite loudly that she would like a Miffy jumper. That is one present crossed off of her Christmas list this year and I will also be buying another for my 13-year-old daughter.

If you are looking for a top-quality jumper this Christmas then look no further.
