I have been a fan of Mavala nail products for some time now, but didn’t know that they also have a range of eye care products. I was excited to be able to try this product and give my honest views on its efficacy.
If you are familiar with Mavala nail care products you will instantly recognise the red and white packaging. Mavala have cleverly stuck with the same branding theme, but the eye care products come in a distinctive blue and white pack.
The Double-Lash is packed in a cardboard outer with a small glass bottle of a similar size to a nail varnish one. The bottle contains the product and the cap has a mascara style brush for application.

The promotional leaflet which came with the product says ‘nutritive care for eyelashes that helps reinforce them and prevent their loss. For longer, fuller, silkier lashes. With a natural extract rich in vitamins and proteins, Mavala Double-Lash vitalises the growth phase of lashes and slows down the falling phase.’
I think I am the perfect candidate for this product as I am follicly challenged in the eyelash department. I have never had the best eyelashes, but with age they have become sparser and barely visible without mascara and even with several coats of mascara are in no way as full or as long as I would wish them to be.
The instructions say to apply on clean lashes every night for 28 days. It is very easy to apply the product which is has a creamy gel like texture. It is quite difficult to see if the lashes are fully coated, so I went over them a couple of times to make sure I hadn’t missed any. Apart from a slight tingling tickling sensation for a few minutes after application, there was no evidence I was wearing the Double lash. In the morning my eyes felt slightly crusty, but the residue washed away easily with warm water. I had no real expectations that this product would work, but persevered with the simple nightly application and closely looked for any growth or improvement.
On week one I could see no visible changes at all which was a bit disappointing.
After two weeks, I thought that my lashes might be looking slightly longer, but it was very hard to tell really, although they did feel as though the condition has improved which was a definite bonus.
On week three there was a clear improvement in the length and with a good coat of mascara my short stubby fine lashes looked much fuller and thicker. For someone who is not used to having eyelashes that can be seen this was very impressive.
At the 28 day point, I can honestly say this product definitely works. The change is subtle, so I would say don’t expect miracles, however, if like me you feel your lashes need some help then the Mavala Double Lash is worth a try.
The bottle of product looks small, however, it seems to last for ages, making it good value for money. For the improvement in condition alone I would be happy to purchase this again.
